Why are all the usable merchants men?
On a side note, Sten mentions that Qunari merchants are female. Yet we never see one.
Something is definitely wrong in Thedas....

It was probably just random and they put no real thought into it. There are quite a few high ranking female characters, so it isn't like it can be attributed to sexual discrimination in Ferelden. Heck, a male priest is the obvious clue that something is wrong at one point in the game.

I think they reused the same voice actor for quite a few of the merchants.
The only Qunari we see in Ferelden are mercenary fighters and, as Sten points out, Qunari women are not fighters.

There's an Orlesian woman whos a merchant named Liselle in Denerim Market District but you can't buy anything from her.
