I just downloaded the Blood Dragon armor DLC and discovered that it requires 38 magic.  It seems to heavy for an Arcane Warrior (which my PC happens to be) but only Mages would have magic that high.  Am I missing something here?

You need 38 Strength to use it or Magic if you are Arcane Warrior.  You get -10% fatigue.

Oh - so only the PC can use it then? When I donned the plate my fatigue rose to 42% - is that acceptable for a mage?

Wow, that seems extremely hig.  What gear are you using?  Do you cast a lot of spells?

If you wanna cast spells or use sustainables that seems too high.  That'll drain mana fast.

My normal fatigue without any sustained actions is 1.6% and the Blood Dragon Plate is 26%. When I first put the armor on, I had Flaming Weapons, Rock Armor, and Arcane Shield turned on which are 5% apiece and made the total 42%

It could work.  If you find yourself running out of mana, boost willpower or get some regeneration mana items.

I don't think Blood Dragon armor is really all that necessary for Arcane Warrior sense you don't need the strength boost it gives.

I'd go for Juggernaut (for resistance boost) or Drakes Superior Dragon Armor (for less fatigue).

TC, you should check out these forums or the wiki for suggestions on Arcane Warrior builds.  It's a specialization you really have to plan for in advance because of the issues you're running into: managing mana/fatigue while wearing heavy or massive armors, picking spells that can be cast without sheathing your weapon, etc.
