Too short? Thoughts?

I know there have been some critiqueing threads, but this is more of a "How the hell did I complete this one so fast?"
If felt like it took weeks to complete ME1 - maybe my excitement wouldn't let me put down the controller, but I'm sure I didn't "rush" through the game. I gained every squadmate - did loyalty missions and did several "anomally detected" missions (not all mind you - did that later after completing the suicide mission) and I still feel sort of cheated.
Don't get me wrong, ME2 still gets high scores from me but I miss the large exploring areas like the original Citadel....
After waiting all this time for ME2 I guess I'm just a bit bummed. I figured all that time was being dedicated to making all those deep missions and huge areas of exploration.
And am I the only one who prefers the elevator to the loading screens? Seems like there was a real hate among people, but honestly I enjoyed looking at my femshep and characters over the loading screens.
Will ME3 be longer/better??? Thoughts????

It's not a short game - maybe not epic 60+ hours of gameplay like Dragon Age, but it's still not short.

My first playtrhough, without taking my time, lasted 30h23. My second playtrhough, doing everything and getting to level 30, lasted 36h24.
With the great diversity in gameplay (each class being very differrent) and the variety of game options (6 different romances, Zaeed choice ect), it adds a great replayability and makes every game unique.
And, let's not forget the game isn't finished yet. The upcomming Hammerhead free DLC will likely add 5 hours + gameplay.
Considering this, I would be happy to have Mass Effect 3 the same length but more content (weapons, dialogue, fish, ship areas & more detailed NPC's like Kelly or Gardener).

Now thats not saying I want ME3 to be short and sweet, hell no!! I want an epic finish to this story that makes me stay up all night playing just to see what happens next.

Well if you're asking did I feel shortchanged by the length of ME2, no I didn't. While it may have been a little shorter it felt like the characters in ME2 had a much greater depth to them and I probably spent more time talking to my team than I ever did in ME1.

I guess shortchanged and time spent isn't quite what I meant.....
I can remember spending hours reading the codex, and just plain exploring.
I immensly enjoyed the storyline and the depth of the new mates, just wanted larger expanses I guess. Example Illos seemed so small - and I really miss running all over the Citadel. *sigh* Maybe its just nostalgia...
-Inserting disc for ME1....

Difficulty changes a lot, but I rather have smooth combat with Shepard being the elite soldier that he/she is rather than nerd raging at some enemies, because they were made harder by just adding damage and health.

I just look at the time of one of my save games after i beat it and it said 17 hours and i did everything possible so thats roughly how long it is maybe a little longer it you talk to everybody and just marinda like me.
Riiight just because of your speed run that is the length of the game?
Funny how my first playthrough took 41 hours and I didn't even recruit Tali or Samara and I sent Legion back to Cerberus (so no Legion loyalty mission). I think I have done most if not all of the N7 and other sidequests on that run though. Not entirely sure if that is true though.
If people want to speed run through things fine, but for any of them to then come on here and say it was short...

6 classes with rather different gameplay, 2 alignment paths to follow, 2 genders.
Obviously, very few people will play ALL the possible combinations, but I also doubt that many people will only play the game through once.

So no, I don't feel it's any shorter than the last game. Actually, I think forty-five hours is about what I did on my first full play of ME, so this may be a little longer. Both games I tried to do absolutely everything I could my first time through...

-sigh- Hopefully ME3 will get the formula between RPG and shooter right. And give us the Mako back.

The rest of the game was the jump into the relay and that consisted of one mission...albeit a longer one.
All in all it could have used a few more missions, maybe have made the Citadel completed in repairs etc. The game just felt too confined for my tastes.

Befudlement: Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 each only lasts about 7 hours on the hardest difficulty (my time 6h48m32s veteran MW2) so I am a bit at odds when people complain about a game lasting 20 hours if they rush it yet turn face and embrace a 7 or 8 hour game lovingly...
Yes, but the Call of Duty isn't all about singleplayer. It has multiplayer aswell, so that pretty much covers for it.
