Is that a fair demand? Of course not, but ME is the greatest franchise I've ever played and I'm really hoping for something legendary in ME3.

I apologize now, if there is already a post - only went back a handful of pages and didn't see a topic like this one.
I know there have been some critiqueing threads, but this is more of a "How the hell did I complete this one so fast?"
If felt like it took weeks to complete ME1 - maybe my excitement wouldn't let me put down the controller, but I'm sure I didn't "rush" through the game. I gained every squadmate - did loyalty missions and did several "anomally detected" missions (not all mind you - did that later after completing the suicide mission) and I still feel sort of cheated.
Don't get me wrong, ME2 still gets high scores from me but I miss the large exploring areas like the original Citadel....
After waiting all this time for ME2 I guess I'm just a bit bummed. I figured all that time was being dedicated to making all those deep missions and huge areas of exploration.
And am I the only one who prefers the elevator to the loading screens? Seems like there was a real hate among people, but honestly I enjoyed looking at my femshep and characters over the loading screens.
Will ME3 be longer/better??? Thoughts????
I could definately have handled at least 5-6 more big missions after Recruiting the Dirty Dozen.(and doing all the sidequests/assignments/N7Missions)
We (customers) just want more of a good thing it seems!
Hoping for BIG DLCs

I found ME1 to be shorter honestly.

When I finished ME2 it didn't feel "short" to me. It definitely felt longer than ME1 and I was pleasantly surprised seeing as how I think of the devs said don't expect it be any longer than ME1. ME1 took me 30 hours the first time, ME2 took me 45 hours. But I try to make sure I don't miss one thing everytime I play.

But in the scheme of things, ME2 is a reasonable length. Hell, after beating it once I was inspired into doing two more complete playthroughs of ME1 and an about to start ANOTHER ME2 import. If I add up the hours that I've spent playing ME games since ME2 launched, it's a hefty amount of time.
I still haven't played Bioshock 2 yet. Happy days.

Seen that I'm working on weekdays and my wife hates games, I still spend quite some time on this if I ask her,lol
Was very happy that Mako thing did not return, made me weary about replaying ME1, still didn't actualy

ME2 came out and I was through my first playthrough in 3 days... 45 hours. Second play through was 5 days later (had to give my lady the game too) at 38 hours. Third playthrough finished today at 40 hours.
So... no don't feel it was too short except that I wish I was still playing!

There was less main plot and side missions, no one will deny that but it’s the middle chapter in a three part story so the plot fit for what it was. Remember at the end of Empire Strikes Back you were like “What, is that it?” Same thing in ME2; no worries, ME3 will be longer I am sure of this. We also have 2 years solid of DLC according to the developers.

How can people say that the second is shorter than the first? I think it took me about twice as long to finish than the first one, and that was with me still leaving most of the sidequests until after the suicide mission.

besides its not like were messing with peter malanew or how he spells it. promasing stuff we never recived for more crap games fable 3 alread :s and with me the only disapointment besides the planet scanning is the direction of my original charicters story and watchin some team mates die and missing the comrarite of some of the older ones. but life cant be candy and rainbows. all i can say is i havent been this into vg charicters since my star ocean 2 and ff7 days.

Have to take into account here were actually more "cities" in ME2 than ME1. While the citadel in ME1 was larger than any one place Omega, Illium, Tachaunka(Krogan homeworld im not gonna bother spelling it), and the new citadel were larger combined than the original citadel. Feros and Noveria hardly count as a "city" to revist, in ME1 as after you do the MQ part there is really no reason to revisit them and they are very small.
there was alot of ME1 that was just filler.
alot of the side quests were essentially the same exact mission (rotating one of 3 prefabbed interiors, so technically the area they took place was the same) all that changed was the text description.
Time in the elevator = time played.
Every world you could land on was exactly the same save for being a different color. And searching for anomolies/resources for UNC : missions, were exactly the same for each mission.
So essentially what I am saying alot of ME1's side quests were doing the same thing over and over again, with the mission description telling you its different. Whereas ME2 never repackaged the same exact mission calling it something else.
I just did a full playthrough of ME1 recently all side missions 40hrs, my first playthrough of ME2 was 42hrs second playthrough was 32. Arguably ME2 is "shorter" but if eliminate all of the "repetative" missions from ME1, ME1 would be considerably shorter.
its simply a matter of quality vs quantity. ME1 offers more missions but they are by no means unique from eachother.

I spent 40 hours on ME2 and I still left some stuff on the table (like some of the N7 missions).
It's not a short game - maybe not epic 60+ hours of gameplay like Dragon Age, but it's still not short.
Same here. For my 2 playthroughs I "needed" about 70 hours. Wouldn't call ME2 short, there are much shorter games out there. I agree that it is not as huge as Dragon Age, but it is defenitely worth its time.

Every ship upgrade worked & saved my crew's / the new Normandy's proverbial ****!
Then the Base had me assigning Specialists & Fire Teams & approaches.
But there were only essentially 3 runs made through the base & none of them had any alternative routes.
Many of my crew were left out of being directly used with their only involvement being an untimely death if loyalty or Team Leader choice was incorrect.
The Suicide Mission itself was great! (at least I felt it was) But I was disappointed that there wasn't MORE of it, which is (I think) a fair statement considering the ENTIRE game is leading up to it with mass upgrades & recruiting & gaining loyalty.
*shrug*

So in the end you say ME2 is shorter.
And about the "fillers", you could also say that between the start and the end in a game everything else is a "filler" , for that, I have a solution, you go on youtube and watch the beginning of a game and then you go back and watch the ending of the same game. Like that you avoid the "filler'...
