I found out that if you don't have the save from the first game (I don't have it anymore -_-), you have to play with the default choices. And most of them are different from those I made in mass effect 1.

So I decided to play mass effect 1 again, but I want to do it fastly and skip all the side quests I can, but I am not sure which of them will have an inpact on the sequel.... Without spoiling the game, can anyone tell me the names of the quests I should not skip?
Also, the first time I played the game I did it as a vanguard.... but sentinels are more awesome on mass effect 2. If I play as a vanguard again, will I be able to change my class later?

Basically, pretty much all of the sidequests don't matter in Mass Effect 2. There are some, like those on the Citadel, that do matter a bit. Dealing with Conrad Verner, (the biggest fan) affects it since he comes back for another sidequest. But other than that, there may be certain dialogue choices affected by sidequests, like the ones with Nassana Dantius, but it doesn't really matter much. Basically, the only thing the actual uncharted worlds sidequests do is, if you complete the mineral gathering sidequest in ME1, then you get extra minerals at the beginning of ME2. (Again, doesn't really matter since it is easy to find minerals)

Also, you can change your class if you import a ME1 save file, but if you do New Game + with an ME2 character, you must keep that class.
