There's a symmetrical thing that Paragon Sheps don't get, though.

What's that btw? Just for curiosity's sake

Morinth.

Paragons can get Morinth, at least I think they can...

They were both pretending you had to arbitrarily pick the "upper-right" boxes for Paragons and "lower-right" for Renegade.

Because falling into a romance with Jack doesn't make my skin do the cha-cha-cha, even if I am counting my every breath in my head.

And I don't want to see Garrus sad :( - nor do I want my character making anything close to homosexual/bisexual remarks because that takes him completely out of character.

As long as they work at really forking the conversation wheel so you really need to plug away at each romance then fine, but otherwise I'm not so sure I'd be ok with it....

I'm not sure why having a guy express interest in Shepard would make your skin do the cha-cha. :/ You can turn them down, you realize? Just like you'd turn a girl down? Basically there's nothing weird or disgusting about it, any more than it would be weird or disgusting with a girl doing it. Better yet, just think of it this way: a person is romantically interested in your Shepard. The dangly bits or lack thereof are just that.

(of course, we could get into an argument all day long about whether dangly bits/lack thereof is a bigger deal, but you know what I mean ;-))

Points for not wanting to make Garrus sad though.

What YOU want....we all want something..It doen't mean BW has to add it. What option is better for the majority of gamers? Six romance? Or less, with *** romances...There's no way to add them without shunning those who prefer the heterosexual ones.

Or,

Six romances, with two out of those six -- one male and one female -- being bisexual options that both male and female Shepards could potentially pursue, much like Liara in the first game.  The remaining four being straight.

There.  In less than a minute I just made everyone happy.

You don't even have to change a lot, if any, of the dialogue: if you'll notice, pretty much all romance dialogue for all romance options are entirely gender-neutral.  Meer and Hale had recorded same-sex romance dialogue for the first game; there's no reason to think they didn't for the second game.

No, now every male gamer who dislikes bi-sexual men can no longer use that character. I'm sure they're glad they were shunned for a veryn small minority. You just can do they. The best choice is to add an only *** male that way you don't alienate the male gamers who wanted to use the bisexual male character as a squadmate.

The difference is that those people are prejudiced, which is an even smaller minority(especially for Bioware.)

That's like not having Jacob be a character because it closes off options to people who hate black people.

There are still a decent number of gamers who are ignorant, and they do still but the game. Why alter a character in that manner anyway, knowing your main demographic won't respond positively?

The main demographic is ignorant, anti-gay, or insecure people?  Wow news to me!

For the same reason that black characters are included in games.  If you've ever played a multiplayer shooter, you're well aware that racism is alive and well in the main demographic that Bioware's chasing.

What is hot about a girl who wants to kiss someone that isn't you (ie. another girl)?

I will never, EVER understand this weird obsession from 99% of the male population. ****in'. Weird.

Although comparing a charater to a sexual orientation makes no sense.

It does when you're saying things, more specifically the same-sex romance, should not have been carried over.

And Liara.Isn't.A.Women.

Actually she is one. Not a human one, but one nonetheless.

She isn't a female, like I said BW isn't oblihated to carry over every small detial not vital to game play. Not wrex, not lesbian sex)even though it wasn't in at all)

I don't see your point.

Whether or not she is a women, she appears to be a woman and has many physical, emotional, and mental traits commonly associated with women in our society.

It's not unreasonable to think that if Femshep is attracted to her she'd be attracted to human women as well.

If an option offends you then maybe you need to re-examine what upsets you. If a bisexual or gay character makes you so upset you will avoid using him/her then you have a problem. The more anti-gay rants I hear the more I wonder if society is truly as enlightened as we think. Honestly is it so much to ask for 1 in 3 to be bisexual?

Actually, now that you mention that I instantly thought back to post DA:O launch. Most loved how romances were done...save for the few " presumably younger males" who " fell for the Zevran massage" offer, and freaked out.

I like to think I'm open-minded as a person but unfortunately the way I 'feel' in reaction to homosexuality directed my way isn't something I can really control. It's not something I flout as being proud of but it's just there, probably due to upbringing. That doesn't mean I have anything against ******- or bisexual people at all, and in fact the majority of male friends I have are homosexual (it's a by-product of having spent time in Brighton) just impulses and the conscious, thoughtful mind are two different things.

Having said that...I think there was a game where that happened and I said "No, I'm not inclined that way". What game was that? Oh for God's sakes I won't be able to sleep now.

I'm more confused about the fact that guys will enthuse endlessly over HAWT LESBIAN ACTION, but confront them with a girl who likes to watch hot men have sex with each other and you never hear the end of their spewing and freaking out. Um, double standard much? :?

No offence intended here but have you played ME2? Because no doubt you have and you'd probably then witness how ridiculously easy it is to enter into a romance with someone, sometimes by complete accident?

As long as that didn't happen I'd be fine with it but, like I said earlier in the thread, I do NOT want to accidentally fall into a romance with Garrus. Thane, fine, but Garrus? HELL no.

Heh.  In my experience, Jack was pretty much all over my Shepard no matter how often I told her "no." but Miranda only had one, completely missable trigger.  Tali was somewhere in between.

Garrus' trigger is fairly missable as well if you don't know what you're looking for.

Jacob was really hard to get anything out of.  But then again, I was playing a renegade ****, and probably hurt his poor little feelings at some point. :innocent:

You have plenty of statistical, non-anecdotal market research to back that up, too, right?

Let's get back to why Jacob's included given your views on appealing to bigoted subsets of a population.  Quit ignoring it and hoping it'll go away.

Wow. This thread is full of hate o_O. You ALL need to stop, seriously, both sides...you've all said what you think about this issue, now move on, face it, none of you is actually going to 'prove the other side wrong' or actually convince them to see things your way.

At this point you are taking this WAY too seriously, you made your claim, surely someone from Bioware noticed it, and they will deal with it as they see fit for better or worse.

Seriously people, take it easy, and move on.
