What's the ONE thing you hope to see in Awakenings

But mostly, I just want to see the consequences of my actions in Origins. I want some of my... questionable decisions to come back and bite me in the a**. I want things from this game to carry over to the next (and the next, and the next...) in meaningful ways.

Good one, I would agree with you there.DragonDefender wrote...
Id also like to see some type of interupt system in the game. Maybe not exactly like how it is done in ME2 but something to show me running someone through and see a close up of my swords graphics and armor would be pretty nice.

I'd like to see more realistic reactions from our companions. For example, it made no sense at all that a character who gives a shrugging -1 approval if you decide to go on a killing spree flips out like a loon and leaves forever if you pour some blood into an ashtray. Actually, *many* of the sidequests should have resulted in about half your party bailing. I want more crisis moments, more tough decisions, more situations without easy answers.

I agree with everything that you just said. Choices and consequences are what makes RPG's great. Everything else is just frosting.

Zevran as the returning companion, especially because it says that he stays with you if you stay with the Grey Wardens. It seems odd that if I continue my character into Awakening, obviously having stayed with the Grey Wardens that he would suddenly be gone from my companions. Talk about a ****ty ass "gotcha!" <_<
But it'd make sense if a significant amount of time passed between DAO and the Awakening. I didn't tell Sten I want to visit the Qunari homeland with him for fun. My character really wants to do that. And it'd seem kinda pointless to implement such an epilogue choice if they go "Whoops, you missed the ship, now you have to stay here and do some more quests."

Saying that a character stays by your side and telling another character you'd like a vacation are a bit different in their gravity. Particularly if the character staying by your side is you LI. --It also would seem silly to toss out an LI that characters of both sexes could romance, etc. And thus have to develop an entirely new character instead of letting people continue the relationship. It's also a tried and true way to ****** off every fan who DID pursue and maintain a relationship of either sort with him.Mistress9Nine wrote...

Besides, Oh no! You can't go on your trip because there are pressing matters at hand! Is a lot different then, despite us saying Zevran stayed by your side we are going to come up with some way of writing him out.

Yeah, the whole fact that the game pushes you to make Alistair the King makes me think it would be downright odd for him to be the returning companion. That would not be good ruling, it's a King's job to stay in his country and run things, not go haring off on adventures where he could get his butt killed. I assume that since you are "only queen" you can go? Or maybe the continuation origin will only be available to those who decided they had stuck with the Grey Wardens?DLAN_Immortality wrote...
Cat Lance, that's totally true. Zev is more or less like Alistair's case. Especially if you are the Queen and he is King. I wonder what will happen with that? :-/
I would love to get more information about the continuation Origin

Sadly, I think Bioware is going to just go ahead and kill several romances with this expansion... >:-[ I hope they prove me wrong.

If that's the case, I'll run a new PC through another game without her romancing anyone, or be the new and awesome Orlesian Warden.

The ones in the original game were good, but a bit simple and mostly involved map traveling and a bit of dialog.
ME2 set a great standard for a companion quest, imo.

I'd like to load into xpac my saved game where I took the decision to leave the Grey Warden, travel the world and then see xpac beginning exactly in the same way as you import a savegame where your character died: beginning the xpac with a new character !!
This would be very funny because this would mean that they respected your choice, they would not have the problem to give you a reason beacuse you had to come back into Grey Warden, giving you for real a feeling of continuity with your previous game
Until today we discussed only of two variables.. which were
x= you died
y= you survived
This means into awakening:
x= new character
Y= old character
I would like to see also "z" variable which is "You left Grey Wardens" which is as same as "x" variable... so:
x,z = new character
y = old character
I believe this option will not be really difficult to be technically developed into the game...and it would be great to see !!!

However it'd be useless to implement a character that many people have killed in their first game and then there was the whole "gone back to lead the crows" thing even if you let him live. I think the chars/LIs from the first game will be more like you can meet them but they're at home taking care of the kids and stuff instead of adventuring with you.

I will be highly disappointed if they pull some crap like that with all the LI's. New companions are nice, but one of the great things about companions was forming a bond with them, friendship OR romantic and trashing all of that in the continuation will be a really crappy move in my opinion.Mistress9Nine wrote...

This is such a bad example of 'unrealistic' reactions, it's mind-boggling.
