I got the CE game and tried to install it, but when I insert the DVD, it just spins, spins, spins and nothing happens. I tried to look at it from My Computer but it just freezes. When I start the game from the desktop and insert the DVD later and press play, the starting screen disappears, the DVD continues to spin, spin, spin, but nothing happens. I wait for 6-7 minutes, but still nothing.
Other DVDs, like the one with the bonus content, works perfectly, other games start normally from DVD. What could be the problem?

My reply (from yesterday) to a thread currently just above this one stands. Installing from the Hdd does work. Installing across a LAN does work. Using an external DVD drive does work. Using the CD Key to download a digital copy from EA's store occasinally is successful. The DVD you are using now is either dirty or has a conflict with the disk in its firmware. If there is an update to the firmware, you could see if that would help.

I found out that I have TSSTcorp TS-H653L DVD Drive, which already has the 714 firmware on it.
Now this drive is an OEM model of Samsung's SH-S183L, which has more resent firmware available, but I have no idea how to flash those on a DVD Drive with a different product name.

PS. Looks like I won't be playing this game untill I buy a new PC...

OK, not my DVD-drive reads the disc, but it does not install the game from it.
Would copying the files to HD help?
