I never understood when people started taking games OD seriously. I could understand digging beneath the surface but once you start comparing video games to historical literature works I can't help but LOL. Like seriously? ITS A GAME. Don't assume it's just 'the gay community.' I'm a straight female, and I'd like the option for some of my male characters to romance men. I'm not alone. I've appreciated Bioware's inclusion of that potential in other titles (Sky FTW).

I think this misses the part where Mass Effect's writing team clearly has no interest in doing a same-sex romance outside of female Shepards pairing with Asari.

Also, this is getting into "just add a toggle!" territory.

I have a better way of being fair - remove all romances. Infact, best remove all gender even though it hasn't  been an issue. Let's all just be Hanar.

I don't think Bioware is any more obligated to cater to the fetishes of perverted women than they are to cater to the gay community. So no, it doesn't really change anything that you two are female.

They are also  the lines of the female/Kaidan romance so what is your point ? That the writers got lazy and reused the same dialog lines for different romances ( just like there is only one human/human sex scene in ME 1 ) ?

A lot of people, me included, have only really taken notice of the discussion because of the huge amount of backlash a simple suggestion received. Noone is really saying Bioware HAS to include it, or that it's expected of them. Some people said they would just like to see it in number 3.

I believe the "fling" with kelly is not considered a romance because...well...it's a fling, and indeed not romantic. But there is the option in the game.

Female Shepard can have sex with Kelly? So basically all this hoopla about Bioware being anti-gay is the result of an overreaction by a hyper-sensitive group of people.

Na you can have a fling with one of the crewmates, male or fem shep can do it. SO there is legitamate, human f/f material in the game.

There's Liara's romance from the first one as well. It's not like they write her completely out of the game if you are a female Shepard.
