Has anyone noticed that in the final scene when the reaper's are shown at the edge of the milky way, that it dousn't actually look like our galaxy (not compared to images I've seen anyway)
I don't see how you can tell which galaxy it is. I could be wrong however. I'm sure its safe to say its our galaxy seeing how they are mad at us.
It would be hilarious for them to fly all the way to the galaxy, taking them several years, only to realize its the wrong one. Eat that, Harbinger! All Shepard needed to do to defeat the Reapers was give them a faulty map.

Or if while they were flying there was a desise that killed all living creatures. So when they arrived they were:
- "Oh you got to be kidding us! .... ok, nothing to see here, lets fly back"
- "But you promissed us some fun"
- "You had to pack bags faster, they were dumber than we predicted and died out while we were waiting for you"

Followed closely by the evil wish to make Joker turn around and look out the window.

Well the milky way is a spiral galaxy, the one in the ending scene looked like a central light surrounded by a ring of stars with some light in betweenDingoEffect wrote...

Mass Effect takes place in our galaxy. Local cluster, Horsehead Nebula, Eagle Nebula, etc...
Anyway, back on topic, the last 10 seconds of the game were the best of the entire game. I can't wait 2 more years for the conclusion to this.

How did you react to seeing the entire reaper fleet heading for the milky way at the end of ME2?
I think this motivational poster covered mine fairly well:
I will quote Joker: "****! ****! ****!"

Actually I hope that doesn't happen. Nor do I want Will Smith and a virus. Seriously how the feck are we going to stop them?

Like... 2 days before I finished the game, I had the exact same picture in mind. I knew that a fleet of reapers would be the very last thing we see and I imagined someone posting a youtube video saying something like "Mass Effect 2 Trailer" to "spoil" the ending for some people, kinda like those pictures of Alyx Vance's father being killed that you're lured into.
So, yes, I just knew that's would be the last thing of the game, right before a strong cut to the credits so it wasn't surprising at all. In fact, it wouldn't even have been surprising or stunning if I didn't expect it as it's a really cheap and cheesy thing to do actually...

Actually, Sovereign just came to open the Mass Relay (Citadel) that brings them in from dark space. They can still fly in normally, just takes longer, and they lose the element of surprise ... although not really as only shepard seems to care that they're going to kill everyone.Valmy wrote...
I am still wondering what triggered it. I thought Sovereign had to wake them up...it makes me wonder if defeating the collectors actually triggered it somehow.
Oh, and my reaction was basically ... "Nice to know you people!"
