Yeah, I dunno. I liked the romances a great deal within DA:O, especially Morrigan's, incredibly powerful ending and very moving. But if she appears as a cameo, that would make sense and still do justice to the story and romance.



I don't think the romances are a legit reason to dislike the expansion's lack thereof, beyond Lelianna and Zevran, as they'd have no reason to part ways with you. Infact, I would have expected Zevran to continue travelling with you as he seems to be one for adventure and the like, though if it is because of the possible romance option and this sudden wanton hate for romances in the following expansion, then I suppose I can live without the bad ass elf who sounds like antonio banderas.



Fact of the matter is folks, I think Bioware wants to kind of stamp into our brains "You know you're here to kill Darkspawn, not frollick through the tulips with Morrigan/Lelianna/Alistar/Zevran." which is also legit.

The ranger Minsc and his miniature giant space hamster Boo were the
comic relief in the Baldur's Gate games. They also possibly were the
most loved characters in any Black Isle / Bioware game.

Very true. These stupid decisions will potentially have a negative financial impact on game developers who insist on being overly cleaver just to fulfill their own egocentric views. I have read many posts about how 'they don't have the budget to do this/that...blah...blah'. The facts are - either people will or will not buy a game. The developers will NOT make money on a game if people don't like what they have put out. If you want to make money - put out what people want, simple.

Yes, people will not buy the game because Bioware hasn't shown they are completely dedicated to ensuring your romantic sub-plot is at the forefront of promotional material and more than likely most of your former companions will have a reduced role in the expansion. Budget be damned, this expansion will be a total flop if Leliana isn't whispering sweet nothings in my ear while I kill Darkspawn.

Just took the poll, I'm not surprised by the top three picks. I'm just impressed by Oghren's standings in the poll. Really? And the OP's "definitely" sure that Oghren will return? It seems like speculation to me. Oghren's probably just making a cameo as far as we know. We can't be certain! :|

I only hope they wont force me to take Oghren with me, that I can leave him behind, or at least in the camp. I'm not against him being there, just don't like him much personally. A drunken dwarf is not something I find appealing as a person. He made me laugh sometimes, but that's about it. None of my characters have made friends with him, not really (even though the approval might be high).

I also wish, like many others here, that the reasons why the old companions aren't there for my grey warden are believable enough. Or then I just have to make a new character I suppose, since the one I was thinking of playing became the queen...
