Chuck Norris is neither Teagan nor Duncan. They couldn't select one that ends with an "n". Therefore, Chuck Norris is the CRRRIMSON OARS captain!

Damn it. You guys figured out that one of the new companions is Chuck Norris. Our conspiracy is ruined because of you. Happy?

They are probably in denial because they simply don't want him as a party member. That's probably the only reason I can think of for why people are so adamant about this issue.

No. I can never be happy. NEVER! >:|
But in seriousness, I'm highly suspecting that they'll pull a Mass Effect in terms of the companion, and it'll be whoever has the highest friendship with the player (and if the character has max affinity with multiple people and no romance, it'd go down a certain order or be selected randomly). If a new character is created, the companion defaults to Oghren.
It'd completely make sense if this was the case, as that way EVERYONE'S "old favorite" will come back, because it's you who chooses who that old favorite will be (unless, as previously said, you start a fresh character). It also makes sense that Oghren is constantly shown in trailers if he's the default character, because for trailer purposes they're already treating certain things (like King Alistair) as set-in-stone even though that's not the case in-game.

This is very much NOT the case. We do not have the budget in an expansion to do full versions of multiple characters from Origins only to let the player use one. While that would be great from a replayability standpoint, it's just not feasible. Everyone does not get their own "personal favorite" coming back. That's just the way it is, folks.Deiser wrote...

Ya well if I don't get my personal favorite back then I am gonna hold my breath until you put them in (I will look like thisonly blue). Since me throwing myself on the floor kicking and crying won't get any attention (except from my wife who won't care).

It looks like my personal favorite is coming back
If it's Oghren I'm gonna do the happy dance!:)
:) see these faces. All the emoticons won't do it justice when they finally officially announce Oghren as the returning companion. I'm gonna enjoy all the people whining when their favorite doesn't return, espcially the Alistair fangirls, as they tend to be the ones that hate Oghren the most, I figure cause he's the opposit of attractive and dreamy.
This emoticon will be the official companion whine police. Prepare for a excessive force beat down Lelina lovers!

Last time here, I promise!
After completing Shale's quest, the golem loses some points, making Oghren the top of the top for me! Asschabs!
Edit : ... do I get banned for this?
