I like Sentinel, because I couldn't choose between Engineer and Adept... Now I have the best of both :-)

I find the "hybrids" more fun to play, with Infiltrators being my top choice (stealth-lover at heart), Vanguards and Sentinels tied for second place.

Soldier here. Activate slow-mo and go Wyatt Earp with a Heavy Pistol on the collectors a**es
The Soldier also has access to all the weapons in the game, so it's a good class to find the right weapon for you

Engineer so far. Infiltrator is fun, but I find there's not enough open terrain for sniping like in the first.

I've only done Vanguard and Soldier so far in ME2. Vanguard was my first love in ME1, and I love its evolution into the high risk, high reward play style (balls-out, if you will). However, the first time I got to try the Revenant AR on my Soldier, well, it was just sex with an 80 round clip. There's little better in ME2 than popping Adrenaline Rush and mowing down an entire swarm of Husks with the Revenant AR and Inferno Ammo.
My next playthrough is up in the air. I'd like to try a Sentinel, as I love the look of Tech Armor, and the class is well equipped for Insanity. It just seems a little too streamlined and designed for Insanity. Engineer looks like a lot of fun, but I don't really want to have to have another play through with my bonus power devoted to defense. Infiltrator looks like fun as well, and I definitely want to get my hands on the Widow Anti-Material Rifle at some point.

Infiltrator for me. Use the cloak to get out of bad situations, the SMG for when they get in close, and lining up a head shot and taking someone down through a shield or armor in one hit makes me all warm inside

Vanguard was the most fun for me, but the most practical is the sentinel. Warp and overload kick ass in this game.

I'm impressed. If you look at all the responses on this page compared to the poll that's also on this thread, Engineer is gradually becoming recognizable. For me personally, I am torn between Infiltrator and Engineer. In almost every shooter game (that allows it), I specialize in sniping. Nothing is more rewarding than to see someone's brains spallter on the ground beneath them. However, I found that the lack of ammo for an Infiltrator was truly disappointing. The slow motion while zoomed was hot, but it seemed to lack in strategy, (ME combat relying heavily on strategy, espacially in the higher difficulties.)
I am enjoying Engineer a lot. This is my third playthrough, the first two being Infiltrator, and I chose an Engineer after I was unsatisfied with the Sentinel's performance. I love having the ability to strip away the target's armor quickly, giving me the opportunity to progress through the missions swiftly. I love the drone since it negates most of the threat (aside from the heavy techs and majority of the husks). I haven't specialized in the crowd control ability for Engineers yet, focusing heavily on the overload and incineration powers. I'm unsure whether or not I would change that approaching my insanity run, but I am still curious about running an AI hacking / Dominate Engineer with Garrus/ Miranda and Tali / Morinth (assuming I go renegade in that run).
If I had to choose only one, however, I would have to go with the Engineer, surprisingly considering that it was my least favorite class in ME1.

Vanguard. It keeps me quick on my toes, and you gotta watch out, and know how to carefully charge. Of course, careful use of Unity is required as well, when you get the upgrade that lets you use Unity to heal.
Infiltrator just felt like a cakewalk. Cloak and the Widow trivialized the endgame, and I'm already a pretty good marksman in games. Sentinel feels the same way as well.
Engineer is fun, but I'm not too far on my Engy's playthrough to make valid comments.

I've completed the game with three classes and am currently trying the Infiltrator. All have been fun for me, but when I'm prompted to choose a favorite, I can't help but to immediately turn to the sniping roles. As a Soldier, I always enjoyed pulling out my rifle, popping some slow-mo, and epically taking out a target in the distance. Now, as an Infiltrator, I'll pretty much be doing this without the slow-mo.
Still, I enjoyed the real life adrenaline rushes of charging in close on my Vanguard. And the sturdiness of the Sentinel that guided me through my first Hardcore playthrough cannot go unappreciated.
So I have no outstanding favorite, though sniping is always enjoyable.

So far I've had the most fun as my adept, simply because I LOVE being able to fling everything around like a ragdoll, and adept + sniper rifle + reave = WIN! I have also just started playing a soldier class, and I must say I'm having a blasty-blast, which is entirely unexpected. In fact, the only class I haven't had fun playing so far is the sentinel, but that could just be because that's my only renegade character and the renegade experience pretty much ruined the game for me while I was playing that path.

I always liked a challenge and i think the vanguard is the hardest one to play. Keeps me on my toes and it's so satisfying to charge into someone and blast them to bits (especially with my new shotty)

Played adept...fun.
Played infiltrator....loved it. One shots, cloak and incinerate or whatever that skill is. Mind you I did not use my cloak that much. Just did not need it.
Looking at vanguard or engineer now.

Ahem, go with Engineer. Playing the tactical class is very fun and very effective.
