Why does the player need to have line of of sight to tell teammates to use their powers?

If I'm halfway accross the room, what good does it serve to tell me where an enemy is if I can't communicate orders to my teammates who do have line of sight?

Don't show this information if there is nothing that can be done with it.

The game uses your line of sight. I'm sure its much more preferable than having your teamates constantly casting their techs/biotics straight into the wall they are huddled up against.

horrid!

but thankfully AI don't do that.

Hopefully it can be improved otherwise I have been playing the game wrong.. not putting eyes on everything that needs to die.

Yep, its funny. It does not matter where your team mates are. If you have LoS and give an attack order your team mates will hit. I've had them in a different room and they still use their powers.

What I would like to know is how do you curve your team mates biotic powers? In the tips it says to aim just to the side etc. I've tried this but most of the time if the enemy is behind cover it just hits the cover.

But this isn't even true.

I've had them behind me in a corridor and they'll splatter the walls instead of hitting the guys in front of me, of whom I have LOS.

It needs to be less picky methinks.

No, as long as you have line of sight then their powers hit every time. I'm on my 3rd playthrough and it has always worked just fine.
