Cross posting this from the DA Customer Support I have submitted in case other people have had similar issues:

I have recently purchased DA:Origins Deluxe edition through Steam. The
game has installed successfully, but on trying to run the game I get
the message "Error initializing PhysX. Please visit http://www.nvidia.com/physx
for updated drivers". I have ensured I have the latest drivers for my
graphics card, the GeForce GS 7900, but still get the message. Any
assistance would greatly be appreciated. My computer meets all the
specified requirements for DA.

As far as I am aware the 7900 doesn't support PhysX since that was a feature from the Series 8 NVidia cards onwards, and this is quite frustrating since I was looking forward to the game!

I will update this as I get a response from the Customer Support, but if anyone else has any tips that would be great!

I had this problem with mine (CD version). It was solved by installing the PhysX drivers from the game disk.
