Periodically my game freezes almost completely, and it lasts for abouth 20 sec before going back to beeing perfectly normal. I dont have lag issues, i have duel core, 3 gigs ram and a geforce gtx 285 graphic card.
It seem to happen randomly but never goes more than say 30 mins between every time. All my drivers are the newest availible and i have never had this issue on any other game in past or present history. Seeing this problem is exclusive to mass effect 2 it must be something with the game right? Anyone have any idea what is wrong or what steps i could take to adress the issue?

I think I have this same problem. It just freezes and seems to stop to load. A couple of seconds later it runs fine. But the problem occurs very frequently for me. Every few minutes or so.

Sorry! I forgot to put up my specs.

Processor: Intel Core 2 6600 @ 2.4GHz, ME2 is detecting both cores (according to the config utility)
Memory: 2GB
GPU: NVIDIA 9600GT 512 MB (Driver nv4_disp.dll 196.21 [6.14.11.9621])

What anti-virus and anti-firewall programs are you guys running?



Also, have you tried validating your game files (if digital download) or re-installing if retail copy? It may be due to corrupt files.

Hmm.. Seems to be running fine after disabling McAfee's firewall. Hope it keeps up! I'm only at the start of the game.
