Almost any fighting game in versus mode, as long as my competition is skilled enough to make victory uncertain even if I play favorite characters. This is especially true of 2D fighters. Some of the most intense moments were snatching victory from the jaws of defeat in Guilty Gear, a King of Fighters game, Street Fighter Alpha 2, ect. I got the biggest rush from X-Men vs Street Fighter though. I know I experienced something special when I can remember specific matches out of hundreds.

Second place goes to House of the Dead 2 when played alone John Woo style by being player one and player two at the same time. (I used to get funny looks playing light gun games that way in arcades.)

Honorable mention: Contra III, Thunder Force V, Axelay... and any decent survival horror game. Although those get my pulse racing through suspense and fear.

Axelay had one of the best soundtracks i've ever heard!

To me, everything comes down to Shoot'em ups (R-type, Axelay, Sonic wings) and Racing (Gran turismo, TOCA, Grid, Need for speed). But i also love that crowning moment of awesomeness at the end of some games, like the Jeep chase in Metal Gear solid or the bike sequence From Snake eater.

Ah yes, that fight. I didn't even see the video. The moment I saw Daigo's name on there I knew it was his crazy tournament comeback. That's a great example of what I mean. Not that I'm anywhere near as skilled. The craziest part of Contra III for me was jumping from missile to missile as a chopper launches them at the boss. That game was full of craziness. I honestly doubt my reflexes are good enough to finish it on normal now, let alone hard. Don't know how I used to pull it off. :P

Edit: And thank you. :)

UFC Undisputed. I hate that game, and yet it always draws me back to play it....
