Obviously, none of you can see what I'm talking about, so I cropped the rest of the image out.
That is BARELY acceptable for last-gen games. I just helped my brother with Twilight Princess earlier today, and its clothing/armor textures don't have any sort of blockyness like that armor does.
Don't play the game if you're so disgusted by looking at it.

And here's up close:

Maybe get a better graphics card.

Graphics do not a game make.
I still play, and greatly enjoy, Deus Ex and System Shock 2.
People have made better textures for both games. They look better. It improves the games less than tweaking the brightness and contrast.
Every moment diverted to eye candy hurts depth. Fewer or shorter side missions. Fewer dialog choices. Less of what makes ME2, ME2. Would you have preferred a June release with better textures?

I have an ATI 5770. It's a good card. The screenshots you posted are of very important characters, of course their clothing's texture quality is going to be good.hex23 wrote...
You didn't answer my question. What card do you have?

In which case, those people should go see Avatar and other such graphical wonders instead of playing a game!

So screen shots of throw away characters you encounter in a close up conversation once is integral to your playing experience?

Anyways, a low-res spot of armor here and there doesn't bother me too much (although the scientist suits can look pretty dreadful), it's the occassional icky lighting you get on ocassion. Like after you talk to the Illusive Man for the first time, the lighting at that part is pretty awful.
But this is nothing compared to what the rest of the game has to offer. Everything is pretty top-notch, even for a port.
Now how come this game can look better than Dragon Age AND run almost twice as smoothly?

Low poly count with a lot of bumpmapping to hide that.
The game does slow down a bit in heavy poly count scenes, say, in Garrus's warehouse mission.

No sir. 1440x900, 4x AA via nHancer, 16x anisotropic filtering. All the goodies in the config utility turned on too.
