I do agree with the OP- its 2010. Those low-rez textures take a little bit out of the game. Please Bioware, in ME3 have higher-rez textures- Liara's dress was pretty bad.

At first I thought his dialogue wheel had only the outline, and thought this guy a legit complaint.

Then I realised he that he's just crying as he realises his epic ATi HD >9000x4 is pretty much overkill for most games, and feels every developer should make a graphically perfect game because now he has da hardwarez to run it.

I thought this was a silly thread. Then i looked at my tv screen (360) and clearly saw on Shepards star-trek like clothes he wears in the normandy, a fairly large blob of black inconsistent with the rest of his collar. Looking up close I noticed about 4 flaws with clothing on the one screen that happened to be on TV (a conversation between Shepard and Legion).

However, i only noticed because i was looking for it. OP has a point, but it personally doesnt bother me.

OP,

Assuming that your comment is about the crappy quality of some of the game's textures, I agree completely. Some of the textures in ME2 are really bad. The same goes for most bioware games though. Some of the Dragon Age: Origins textures are worthy of being vomited on.

For those who don't get it. The resolution of some of the game's textures is really poor. If you can't see that in the original post I suggest you find a dictionary and look up this word: denial.

OH NOZ! TEH GRAPHIX ARE NOT TO MY STASFAXION!!! ME COMPLAN TO EVREY1!!!!

So? It's just graphics. If you're looking for graphics, go play something like Crysis. Appearance isn't what matters in this game, you know.

Or you could, you know, kick something up using TexMod.

Many of the clothing textures are pretty bad, some look like they used MS paint to make them. The textures are best on the characters that matter though. still it would be nice if they were higher res than 512x512, thats what was used in KotOR and many of the clothing textures in ME2 don't look any better than than the textures KotOR.

The game is still great, but it would be nice to have higher res textures for the PC version. I would think that most game artists would start off at a higher resolution texture then down grade for actual production.

I suppose this is the trade off that PC players pay for buying a console game ported to PC. I appreciate the fact that I actually get to play the game on my PC without waiting 2 years for a port. The 360 hardware isn't getting any better so what do you expect?

I'm starting to think it's a bug. Bioware couldn't possibly be dumb enough to show that nicely textured helmet right above that terrible looking armor.

Oh, and to see the full effect, right click on the image, copy the image url, and paste it into a new tab.

I suppose it's to be expected here, but there are too many bioware apologists on this forum. I love bioware's games - all of them. But I don't understand why anybody would come on to a thread and try and mock somebody for making a viable complaint. Many of the textures in many of bioware's games are subpar. Perhaps people have just come to expect that from bioware? Or is it just fanboy syndrome? I don't know. I don't get it.

It's not an issue because this is how it has always been with Bioware games.  Graphics aren't the main focus of their games, and some bad textures isn't a big deal.

I totally agree with the OP, all the time they were developing ME2 they said they were working on the issues with the low quality tetures, and with bigger things, including our armor and personal looks they hit it right on the nail.

However, with colors and tetures for other npcs they basically did copy/paste from ME1 to ME2. Its dissapointing and really distracting from the immersion when a Turian has a realistic face and then two inches below his chin hes got a ladder diagonal line instead of something DECENT forget high quality.

It really is unacceptable, no matter how you look at it, especially when Nintendo doesnt even do that on OLDER games.

Thank you. Oh, and please, everyone. Right click on the image I posted several posts before this, copy the image url, and open it in a new tab or window. I'd like to see the argument you have against me after seeing that image up close.

Garrus' face is no longer a weird blob, I'm happy. Annoying as the armour texture ugliness is, I would be far more annoyed if I had to get a new graphics card just to play ME2.

Leave the l33t graphics to Crytek, they excel at it. Bioware excels at digital acting and storytelling, and that's been done really well in ME2.

That texture is fixable. It looks like lazy UV mapping. If you look at it the texture is fine a little further up then it gets all jagged.

Maybe get a better graphics card.

The shoulder pads on Kelly look pretty foul, so your point is moot, also all these characters are primary ones that people are expected to be staring at for 20+ minutes each, so it's no surprise that the textures' resolutions are 3-4 times that of the turian guy. It's just a corner cutting method, hoping that people will mostly be looking at the main characters, and in your case, they were successful.

I know what the thread starter is talking about. But, it really is a minor issue because these low textures are the mercs' armors, and I dun really remember seeing them elsewhere except on the 3 merc band soldiers. The supporting characters do have lower textures in terms of their costumes. However, the texture on the places u frequent the most, like the normandy...and your characters are really well done.

I can see your point, but it isn't that wide spread throughout the game. I sure hope you don't let it spoil your mood.

Don't worry, it's not. Mass Effect 2 is still my favorite game, but I'm disappointed that some of the textures are of such a low quality.

The shoulder pads look fine and my point stands.

You see "that Turian guy" maybe 5 minutes. The same can be said for any of the other supposedly poorly textured characters. Out of all the things that could be criticized about "ME2"....and there is a few, I love the game but it's not perfect....this is extremely low on the list. It shouldn't even be on the list.

Something along the lines of 500+ characters and we're seriously sitting here splitting hairs over  low res textures on characters you see for 5 minutes in a 30+ hour game?

Really?
