Sad as this is to admit it, I'm Completely devoted to Ashley in Mass Effect, and still intend to keep my 'Canon' Shepard loyal to her. Yes, I did go through ME2 quickly on my first Test playthrough and I did pursue the Tali relationship, but mainly that was just to see what all the hoop-la was about, and even though they did a good job and the Romance is Cute as hell, my Main Shep is still a one woman Man, and that Woman is Ashley.
To get back on frakking topic, my question is this. Just how hard is it via the dialogue options to keep the Females members of your team on Friend Terms? Normally, with Dialogue, I always select the Top Right most selection since it's the High Paragon response and I play a High Paragon Shepard. In ME1, I did the same when talking with everyone, and yes, Liara asked me if she thought we had a connection, and right in the middle there was a clear, "Not in that way" option. She was embaresed, and I felt a little bad, but Shep's response was not at all harsh. However, in ME2, that seems to not be the case. You can either be Paragon with your options, and of course the women think you want to be with them, or you can pick the negetive responses and sound like an absolute douche. I'm not a fan of the later. So, back to the question; Am I missing something? Is there a way to be friendly with the Female Squadmates without them thinking you want to Shag 'em? If anyone has an answer and some examples, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
Staying on 'Friend' Terms with the Females of Mass Effect 2

I know with Miranda, if you choose the middle option when it comes time to say "I want you" essentially, it's completely not suggestive at all, and on my first playthrough I saw no trace of the romance.
With Jack, it's basically like "You want sex?" and all you have to say is "No." and then she's confused as to why you're even talking to her, but that's the only way I know to end it without implying you have a thing for her.
With Tali, you have to let her down, and she's embarrassed, and I felt bad.
