the abilities are free you dont need to spend points on them and theres no draw back to them other than the fact they use hp (which is easier to replenish than stamina by far)

Yeah, I have a few characters but none are Bloodmages so probably going to destroy it every time I guess. Not really a big fan of playing mages personally.

what does playing as a blood mage have to do with the WK abilities?

the talents you get are based on the class you are playing and funnily enough the mage talents are the worst of the bunch

Any class can acquire powers, so what you need is a character who approves of or can justify the use of  blood magic, not just a blood mage.

Ok so i heard there are multiple endings? you serious? I thought there was only one ending. Kill the bad guy and save the world?

Without ruining it for me, are all the variations in the ending VERY different? when i say very different, i mean ... different in major ways, not minor ways as in which person you've romanced, walking away in the fading sunlight with.

I mean, are the endings so varied that one ending is a bad ending, and the other ending is a goood ending?

It's honestly taking me so long to get through this game, I honestly doubt i have time to play this through so many times.

I've probably spent like 20-30 hours playing it and i'm only 10 - 15% through.

Yes there are many ending's... For example you can play a HNM, a HNF, A city elf, a Dalish Elf, a dwarf noble, a dwarf commoner, a mage etc, n each one has a different ending depending on your choices... Since you don't want spoilers then i won't say anything but lets put it this way, if you play HFN you can get 2 different endings but there's more lol

Aye, I get that, never played a character that approves of blood magic sooo that answers that :) I wasn't exactly impressed with the rogue abilities anyway when I tried it out the first time.

There are officially 4 different endings to get the Perfectionist achievement but there are many different variations based on the choices you make (in terms of the Epilogue cards).  Can't say much more without spoiling, sorry :)

If you drink it you get two abilities. The abilities depend on your class, and they enable the PC to use her tainted blood against foes.

The demon using Sophia's body dies all the time. My HNF warrior looks smashing in the armor ;)

Avernus lives, he might be useful, and besides, a 200 year prison sentence was enough, or so thinks my PC. She also appreciates that Avernus kept the demons at bay. Granted, he's the one who weakened the veil, but at least he tried to make up for it.

I always kill Sophia and let Avernus live. My blood magic mage told him he could do what he wanted, everyone else told him to research "ethically". Also, no one but my blood mage drank the blood.

It IS kind of frustrating that these choices don't have any tangible repercussions in game... and I'm not even talking about Avernus never finding anything or Sophia never showing up and causing problems. I mean things like drinking Avernus's potion in front of my Wynne/Alistair/Leliana party. NONE OF THEM SAY ANYTHING. None of them dissaprove. No one cares. That just Should Not Be.

I do like that Dog growls as Sophia though, and you have an option to choose to kill her based off of that alone!

As for being too easy, I went to Soldier's Peak right after Lothering with my HNF warrior with shield and sword combo and breezed through the place. The longest fight was the demon at the end. She wasn't hard, it just took longer to take her out.

That's not what I was talking about when I mentioned "you think this is hard wait until later", I was talking about the decisions you have to make... Warden Peak's choices are a piece of cake compared to other ones in the game even after playing multiple times lmao... I still can't get myself to kill a certain person/kid in a certain quest lol

Naw, just have his mom do it. Pure entertainment.

I don't think it's all that accurate to call using the potion 'blood magic'. It's basically a catalyst to give a Warden greater control over the Darkspawn taint, so it's only really blood magic if the Joining is- probably not something it's best to mention to the mages who do the ritual.

(Incidentally, don't they ask why Duncan wants enchanted Darkspawn blood? Either they're in on the secret, or they're some trusting/naive/very stupid mages)

As for Sofia, the only way I'd keep her alive is if Oghren could somehow charm her out of that armor, which is some seriously nice wear for the discerning darkspawn-slaughterer. I even have a rogue wearing it :)

(Actually, if you count Ser Leliana on another playthrough, 2 rogues :P)

I guess what I am really hoping is that if I let Sophia live ... something big will come out of it. Maybe she will raise an army of her own. Who knows, maybe she'll even settle down and have some kids. I guess what I am thinking is that the natural path seems to kill Sophia and let Avernus live. But what if the developers really thought deeply about this, and decided to reward players who let Sophia live, with an awesome cut scene, or follow up story later on. What if they decided to reward players who chose to not fit the mold, kill avernus and let Sophia live. Perhaps then they will reward us with something greater than the immediate reward of Sophia's armor gives us. I too let Avernus live, but am, oh, so tempted to see if some greater "good" comes out of letting Sophia live, other than the armor I got from her.

Sophia isn't really Sophia. She's a demon who is feeding on the dead body of Sophia Dryden.

Her remark that she wishes to go out into the world to "Feed" doomed her in my play-through.

The fact that Avernus was the one preventing her and all the other demons from invading, saved his hide.

Lmao that's just mean.  But I can't even do that, 1 I'd end up feeling guilty n 2 well I don't want to hurt Alistair cause he's had enough of that his whole life.

That was the decision maker for me too. That tells you right there she's downright EVIL lol.  Ya Avernus used other people for his experiments n that's evil but to me it seems like he wants to redeem himself, he does feel guilty especially when he says "from a warden that means something."  And you never know what he might actually come up with from his experiments as long as their done in the humane way.

True maybe sophia is a demon ... and avernus wants to redeem himself, so something good may come out of letting him continue research (ethically/non-ethically). However, whats to say that we might not come across a showdown of Sophia against the Blight, if we let her live. In other words, any good there may be of letting Sophia cannot be known (tho, perhaps less likely). It's not impossible the developers would reward us with something very interesting if we let her live. But, I do agree with you, given her rather evilness, i'm inclined to less likely believe something good might come of it. But if it means i miss an awesome cutscene because i kill her ...

There is nothing of Sophia the Warden left.  She was taken over by a demon and that demon is PURE EVIL, just by the Feed dialogue you can see that... If your thinking down the road that "Sophia" might be able to help with the darkspawn later or try n redeem herself that's not possible.  Levi's great great grandmother Sophia is dead and gone, all that's left is her body n that's what the demon is using.

Hello all:

Thanks for all the feedback. And having read through some of the above posts ... it didn't occur to me the possibility that there are so many possible endings. So in an effort some of the more experienced of you provide some guidance, without providing spoilers, please feel free to post on my recent post.

Thanks!
