if you remember in mass effect 1 the story was great the characters were great the Feeling you got from playing it was great.
But now mass effect is a shooter with barely any rpg elements no side quests and the game only feels complete at the last mission. the combat felt more tactical in mass effect 1 and it felt complete throughout the story. in mass effect 2 the story is okay and from the start it felt half done. maybe i am just pissed but mass effect 2 doesn't feel like mass effect

Because inventory system and grinding up to level 200 are what define ROLE PLAYING GAME ELEMENTS. Yeah forget the dialogue, storylines, and developing the story of your own character, those are obviously not RPG material.

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed by the reduction in RPG elements, but I still enjoyed ME2 greatly.

I agree, some of the things they took out such as the inventory system and exploration, I think could have been re-worked instead of just being cut. But it was still a fun playthrough

I am not sure what made ME1 combat more tactical than part 2, it was slow and unresponsive.

What?... In Masseffect you had unlimited ammo and the cover system rarely worked, In Masseffect 2 the ammo (for Soldier anyway) makes you approach situations different and utilize the weapon best for the situation, You also (I'm playing on insane btw) want to tell your squad where to go for cover,  In masseffect even on Insane I just blasted through and never used squad commands, This game i'm forced to use my squad or i'm dead in minutes, Just saying. Masseffect 2 still feel's like Masseffect to me anyway.

This. I absolutely HATED the combat in ME1. That was the one aspect of the first game that utterly destroyed any replay value it had for me. I personally think ME1 would have been better without any combat at all.

ME2 was quite the opposite. I find myself looking forward to every firefight. The AI aren't the utter idiots they were in the first game, and it just feels better overall. It actually feels like Shepard's holding a weapon, not a sci-fi TV prop. And I love what they've done with biotics. Maybe less believable, but more satisfying. Playing my Adept Shepard couldn't be more fun for me.

I have to disagree, RPG means an engaging story and good character development, not how the inventory system works. Mass Effect 2 for me is different from Mass Effect 1, not any better, but definitely not any worse.
