Continuing to play After End Mission = Awesome

- talk to your crew about what happened
- pursue and repeatedly chill with your LI (although i think they could expand on this for ME3 in a lot of ways)
- roam the galaxy, finish missions, revisit planets
This was a really really great thing that Bioware did. I remember arguing in the Dragon Age forums last year that this should have been done and surprisingly to me most people boo-hissed the idea. They wanted "Closure" and a sense that the story was over. And after having put in a several hours after the final mission doing the above noted things, i think it worked out really really well. Thank you Bioware, and please please do the same thing for ME3.

yea, locking the map on endgame on dao was ****ing annoying.
yeah, and your LI said like one lame thing to you and bam! no more. very dissapointed, i really think it killed the replayability for me too. why play again when you know everything is leading up to some credits and the "press start" screen?

I thought it was pretty lame. Firstly the crew members didn't say anything else than "you did the right thing" (if you destroyed the base) or along those lines, and there was no new dialogue after that. None of the non-crew NPCs had anything new to say, which was disappointing. You could go see Anderson, and he'd have nothing to say. Same with everyone else I talked to. So I didn't play after the main plot for long because it seemed to degrade the overall experience.
well it was the end of the game. I liked it because I was still able to get any upgrades and side missions I may of have skipped.

For example. Clearing out a Heretic base. I'm sure you can think of missions that could pop up but once you finish all the missions its pointless to keep playing.

There's a lot of room for improvement and content to be sure. But i would rather have it as an "option" than not have it at all.
I don't think they did anywhere near as bad a job as you do either. Joker & Edi finally get along. Everyone including minor crewmembers have at least something to say and most importantly you get to carry on with your LI in a non-hostile environment.

Random firefights for the sake of shooting things = awsome.
That would keep be occupied for a few more hours.

Well sir, that is what it is like in all games. At least this time you can do some things after completing the story rather than nothing at all.

This, I have nothing to do except feed fish, hug tali and talk on the ship, upgrades are to difficult to get as I need more resources, getting more means spending credits, and no missions = no more credits, so its pointless and im now just waiting for DLC.cruc1al wrote...

I guess. I liked hugging Tali & talking to my crew.
I agree with you on their not being "enough" stuff to do, and there not being more credits available. But i don't think it's pointless at all. glad i got more out of it than that, you make it sound like an awful experience or something.

alright. i'm more or less with you on that. I just don't want to see them go back to "Credits And Its Over". I totally agree that it needs improvement.
The DLC could live on forever in ME3. think about it. The Council hires Shepard for a new intergalatic issue, Cerberus needs help with lab tests on Pyjacks, there''s potential for some serious DLC post ME3 if they keep this function. Tell me Tali fans wouldn't buy every single Tali related DLC that came out after ME3.

I was wondering if there is anything new to do during the endgame, besides the one extra bit of dialogue with the crew and the ability to summon your LI to your quarters. I completed all of the side missions, bought all the upgrades, every system 100% explored. Is there anything extra now? Maybe a couple N7 missions, or some "I can't believe you survived" type dialogue with important NPCs?
not yet, but that's why i would like to see more threads like this to push for it. If people call out for it, the post-End Mission stuff will kick ASS in ME3. They'll likely address it in ME2 DLC as well.

It seems like the whole point of continuing the game after you beat it is because we will get more DLC for it. I don't like restarting a game or going back to a previous save just to experience DLC. I like the idea of continuing the game after you have completed it so that you can play the new DLC without restarting.
I agree and like you said before it's nice to cruise the galaxy after everything has settled down and you saved the day. To talk with your LI and your crew and have an added sense of victory in their comments and the calm mood of the ship is nice. maybe it's brief, but it's better than credits and a cold dark screen of nothingness.

*Sigh* ah well, I suppose I'll just do another run-through then. I agree with you about DLC. I see the post-credits play option as Bioware's way of leaving it open ended for DLC which will tie ME2 to ME3 (which they promised in ME1 but couldn't pull off at the time). The thing with ME1 DLC like BDtS was that it had to be played during the main story, since there was no way to go on after the end. This feature being present in ME2 makes me optimistic that Bioware will use it to implement additions to the story before the third game comes out.

That and I think they thought players would enjoy continuing their relationships. which is a success imo for the most part. the couch sitting, and cuddling is a sweet gesture but a little conversation some more content with the crew could have gone a long way.

i think you're right. although, i'm not sure if there will be any DLC that is "strictly" post-End Mission. that would be cool though.
