Only they f'ed not having reoccurring missions.

For example. Clearing out a Heretic base. I'm sure you can think of missions that could pop up but once you finish all the missions its pointless to keep playing.

Well sir, that is what it is like in all games. At least this time you can do some things after completing the story rather than nothing at all.

This is true but I believe they only did this because your crew gets kidnapped. I'm sure they could have designed stuff for afterwards just to keep playing with your current character. Not a big deal but it would have been nice.

actually, i think it is a big deal. i would rather them let us have the end game "continue playing" thing regardless, but it would be nice if they fixed the things that don't make sense. and if that means "shutting you down" on missions that were previously relevent to the main mission so be it.

The "Continue Playing" thing is great and should stay regardless. But, it will only ever be "great" when/if they fine-tune it to work with the story in every way and make sense.

I don't get why its great. The only real benefit is that you don't have to cram all the side missions before the final one but if you want to maxamize for full EXP it matters. I don't think continue playing adds awhole lot value to be honest.

well. i don't know what to tell you beyond what i have already said to convince you. but do you think it would be better to just "go to credits and end the game"? if so, i would ask you why that is better?

I wish they would've developed the post-final mission part more (taking out the dialog that made no sense chronologically would've been nice, at least), but I was glad at least you can continue afterwards. Letting you hang out with your LI was cool too.

Well, it's not as good as Fallout 2 but I'll take it. Although, they can add more stuff with DLC's.

I have a feeling there will...be... that Tali dry hump is really creepy.

back to my subject I hope there is DLC, and Expansions.

did anyone get to have Kelly after beating the Collectors? I was trying to activate those shenanigans with her so I told my LI off at the time and then Kelly had nothing to say to me! People have said you just have to dump your LI then she comes up to dinner or something...LOL.

didn't work for me... and I'm sure there's about 100 threads about this too...

Well there wasn't enough going on to keep me from continuing my playthrough. So while its beneficial for those who put off side quests its very empty and can be vastly improved IMO.

So can i get the relationship achievement by carrying on the game after it's finished?

I missed opertunity during the storyline.

In that case, i agree with you. i misunderstood.  It's a good "start" though. And heck being able to continue your LI is reason enough to continue playing.

I thought it was awesome since I didn't realize there were a whole bunch of N7 missions you got through scanning...ended up being a very nice epilogue.

To be fair I don't think anyone knew what you were doing apart from Cerberus, so an 'omg you made it' would be dumb. But if you go to the news things on the citadel one of them says something like: 'Alliance have detected strange readings from the Omega-4 Relay that suggest it was recently used'.

nice. i need to go back and listen to those some more.

i really enjoyed the galactic news in ME2. i think a pda on your armor would be nice so you could listen to the news while you roamed the cities. it would be a good chance to add some "squad talk" in reference to the news stories.

I was initially very excited about continuing after game completion, but that fizzled pretty fast when I realized how few side missions there are in ME2 and how short they are. Once you're done, you're done. Here's to hoping for extensive DLC, and maybe even some sort of random encounter/procedural side mission system to keep the action going indefinitely.

Ditto. Grunt is getting restless, the Legion collective wants to try out its new Widow (which it forgot to bring to the collector base), and though Zaeed and Jack both promised to leave after the collector mission, even they are hanging around like a bad smell in the hope of some more action.

The pure combat orientated DLC didn't work in ME1 largely because the ME1 combat system just wasn't fun enough to stand on its own outside of a decent storyline - might be different with ME2 because the combat is actually fun in its own right.

As others have said, the 'continue' option was almost certainly put in with future DLC in mind (almost a no-brainer really). Till then the galaxy is quiet, too quiet....

In the meantime, starting a new ME2 Shepard (since can't face going back to ME1 to complete the 2nd Shepard I left there).

For those of us that managed to unlock the Kelly Chambers "romance" option there is plenty of incentive to continue playing for a short while :kissing:

There's a lot of room for improvement and content to be sure.  But i would rather have it as an "option" than not have it at all.

I disagree. A crap feature is better cut that present.

I don't think they did anywhere near as bad a job as you do either. Joker & Edi finally get along. Everyone including minor crewmembers have at least something to say and most importantly you get to carry on with your LI in a non-hostile environment.

Edi & Joker got along ever since after the IFF incident.

It's good because it means you can decide that saving the galaxy takes priority over a few minor family matters without necessarily cutting yourself of from that content

I appreciate it mainly because I have the PS3 version and waited on LOTSB until postgame for the continuity placement. Other than that and the few lines from each crew member I could have lived without it. Still... it's cool.

I just beat the game, and i lost some crew because i wanted to do loyalty missions first (for me3) but now i want to go back to a previous save and save my entire crew and do my loyalty missions after that and use that save for me3. if i do a loyalty mission after i beat the game will those choices import into me3? or does everything need to be done before the final mission?

... Completed the game.
... 100% Exploration on the entire milkyway...
... I guess i'll go check my fishies and summon Tali up.
...?!... MY FISH...? NOOO!!! THEY'RE DEAD! THE COLLECTORS GOT EM!!! D:

*Head back to Illium and Citadel to buy new fishies*

That my friends, is what keeps me occupied at the moment. I wait for my fish to die, to waste my credits on new fish. Seriously I don't get it, I always forget to feed them after a mission! I am such a horrible pet owner... Keeps me occupied though.
