I (finally) beat Mass Effect 1 on the PC. I vaguely recall hearing about something where you could start a new game with all your old skills intact, etc? New Game +?
I'm not seeing an option like that listed now that I've beaten it. Where is it hidden?
(Yeah, yeah, I'm a newbie.)
New Game +?

IIRC, on the main menu, select new game, then it will give you an option after some banter about security. The options should include EXISTING character, then you select the character you already completed the game with. The option is not directly on the main menu.

Aha! Thanks!
Let me ask this other question then: If I replay this guy, what happens to the choices I made the first time around? What about the choices I'll make this time around? I mean with regards to ME2's import.

Each time you beat the game it makes a special save so when you import to ME 2 you will see mutiple saves with the same name of the character assuming you beat the game the second playthrough.

Don't forget to run the configuration set up. You'll need to select what folder(directory) your ME1 saves are in.
How exactly does the PC Configuration Utility work with ME1 save games?
* Here are step by step instructions on how to run and use the Configuration Utility to import your ME1 save game.
* Run the Mass Effect 2 Configuration Utility from the main launcher
* Click the 'Save Games' button
* Click the 'Copy Mass Effect 1 Save Games' button, and select the appropriate location for your ME1 save game. (the default location is My Documents\\bioware\\Mass Effect\\Save)
* This will copy the appropriate save games from your Mass Effect 1 directory into the proper place in the Mass Effect 2 directory.
* Run Mass Effect 2, and from the main menu select 'New Game'
* Select 'Import ME1 Character'
* Your savegame should now show up in the list.

Excellent, so I don't lose that info.
What about the auto save under that name? Is this like creating a new profile, or will it reuse my old Auto Save file that's currently saved to the very end of the entire game?

No I think it makes a seperate one because my characters all have the save before the End game. (Avoiding SPoilers)

I know the OP is on the PC, but does the PC have the same first-11-saves limitation that the 360 does? FYI: on the 360, only the FIRST 11 ME1 saves are available for ME2 import - which IMHO is stupid - it should have been the LAST 11 saves, not the first ones (older saves suck, newer saves are what we want to import).
