No, this is not another debate about should we or shouldn't we.  There's been enough of those, please and thanks.

My third playthrough in order of starting, a City Elf Warrior Female, was the first to spare Loghain.  I set it up so that not only would he be part of Warden's Keep, RtO, getting Shale and doing Cadash Thaig, but also killing Flemmeth, Kolgrim, the High Dragon, Aeducan Thaig, and a couple sidequests.

Aside from my City Elf, there was Morrigan and Zevran; Loghain replaced Sten as secondary tank.  (Yes, Sten tanked.  I gace him lots of CON and told him not to die.)

A couple of things struck me.  First of all, once you use up Loghain's dialogue tree, that's it; none of them repeat, which I found somewhat odd.

Loghain's comments in RtO struck me as perfectly in character.

He fought well enough, pulled his own weight, did his share of the kills; but what puzzled me is he never got an "epic kill" animation.  Not once.  He didn't kill Flemmeth, the High Dragon, or the Archdemon (and with the High Dragon and the Archdemon I tried my a** off to get him those kills).  He killed several Ogres, but never once got an epic kill animation on any of them.   Zevran was the Epic Killer this game.  He got more than anyone else, maybe more than my City Elf and Sten combined.  (Zevran also died more often than anyone else.)  If it weren't for youtube evidence to the contrary, I would think Loghain was unable to get such animations, a la Shale.  That puzzled and frustrated me.

If you hate the idea of using Loghain; thank you, opinion duly noted, I've killed him 2 out of 3 times I've played, and I'm gonna kill him next playthrough, too.

For those of you that HAVE used Loghain, any epic kills you did get, or stories to share?
