What's going to make all this irrelevant is when they make the other games or put out more books on this series. It would be like writing a fanfic on what happened between Star Wars Episode 3 to Star Wars Episode 4. I guess you can claim it's one version but then how does one account for the actions taken when the series comes out? It's a reach but be prepared for total geeks to stomp you into the ground. I've seen it happen and it's...scary *hides in a corner*

If you do take something like this on be prepared to push every romantic notion out of your head. Banter between characters (male and female) like sarcasm can be viewed as foreplay thus romantic. Personally I find stories that solely focus on the politics are dry. And the other thing is you can tell it from the view point of another country but I highly doubt you can't mention the romatic ties of the story. If a bard or minstrel were to retell the story they'd add the romance to enhance the tragedy if you get what I mean. Also one might want to look up the meaning of romance...
