I know this must have been asked before, but other than the asari, is it possible for two different species to have a child? I.E. Turian and Human. Or has this not been explained?

Other than the Asari....

No I don't think so, it would make absolutely no sense. Whatsoever for different species to have children.

Especially Turians and humans given that they have different amino acids.

turian would be impossible, you can't even ingest their uh...liquids. but yeah, i doubt anything other than with the asari is even remotely possible.

There's no evidence one way or another, but there should be exactly zero chance of it occuring. Turians and humans can't even eat the same foods. Humans and chimpanzees share more than ninety nine percent of our genetic code, yet the two species are certainly not interfertile. An actual alien species will have very, very little in common, genetically, with a human. Certainly not enough to produce offspring.

Even the Asari don't actually use alien DNA to create offspring, it's apparently there as some sort of randomizing catalyst. And we all know the Asari were just meant to pander to pimply sixteen year old basment-dwellers anyway. :P

I don't think so... My Shepard loves Tali to the bottom of his heart, but human-quarian babies will never born.

Only the asari and their mythical gene-scaning are able to do that.

I think it is possiable but would take extensive medical intervention results would not likely be good. Anyone seen the movie "Alien: Resurrection"?

Not going to happen. As cool as Spock is, we don't need someone like him to be in Mass Effect.

Although there are Sheep born with human faces they are usually abominations.

...

Oh are we talking about Mass Effect? I doubt it.

Turians and Quarians have different genetic makeup, they are dextro acidic based, while we are amino acid based, so even if somehow Mordin worked some crazy science to make it happen, the baby would be seriously ****ed up, and probably die from complications.

I say: "why take the chance"?

The last thing I want is some freak of a child running around my ship. Nope, I stick to good old, human on human fornication.

Yea he is. No you can't have interspecies pregnancy other than with an Asari. However that is hardly saying you can't have children. This is the future and the Salarians don't even fornicate. So there's nothing saying you couldn't contribute some DNA and your partner contribute some DNA to the test tube and see if someone can make a viable offspring. Remember humans have only been on the intergalactic scene a very short amount of time. If it hasn't been invented yet, a human will do it very soon, rest assured.

It won't happen.

You could, technically, mix them with lots of genetic work, but it would take far too many resources, time, and money to be of any worth.

As for the Sheep with human faces, it's nothing more than a genetic aberration and there have only been two accounts of said mutations. One was burned to death by pious and ignorant farmers and the other died at birth.

I really don't care if me and Tali can have a child but it's sure fun trying though.

Sadness because they don't have a basic science education or sadness because they want to have some sort of freakish baby with a fictional alien?
