This thread is full of sadness.

Sadness because they don't have a basic science education or sadness because they want to have some sort of freakish baby with a fictional alien?

I excuse the 2nd because they are likely 13year olds. I don't excuse the 1st no matter what age.

I really don't care if me and Tali can have a child but it's sure fun trying though.

Your shepard might have fun, but your levo-amino bodily fluids will make it not very fun for Tali.

Adoption would take care of the problem quite nicely, I think.

I blame all the half-elves in literature... and Spock who is a half-elf.

On another note, there is always adoption!

Just because it's assumed that it isn't possible does not mean that it's true. Bioware can do anything they want to do with their story, and I feel it would be good closure if you're in love with a character in ME3 and have a child. No where do they specifically say, that I can recall, that it is NOT possible to reproduce with another race other than Asari, except for Turians.

With that said, I really doubt that they will have Shepard have a child in the thrid game, the things we know do point towards it not being possible. Still I just figured I'd point out what I said above.

There is technically nothing wrong with interspecies romance if both species are sentient.

Also, I did not say sex, I said "romance" or maybe a more fitting word would be "relationship".

They could also replace the Normandy with a flying Trojan Horse and give Shepard a wings, and have all his companions be composed of fairy tale villians, bu that would be stupid, wouldn't it?

I had a though on the moral repercussions of an interspecies relationship. The FemeGarrus one isn't really a problem because it would be exactly like a homosexual relationship. However the MaleTali would bring issues simply because she has a duty to the flotilla. Not really as a body making machine but a person who is part of the limited size Quarian family. Family is very important to Quarians and by having a committed relationship with another species she is pretty much giving them a big scholarship to FU.

i would think that would be a problem.

Random Quarian: Hi, how are you? this is my kid

Random Quarian Kid: Hi!

Renegade Sheperd: *Renegade interupt, shoots Random Quarian in the face plate and kills her*

Random Quarian Kid: OMG! you killed mommy!

Renegade Sheperd: yes, and there is a new one waiting for you on the ship.

Random Quarian Kid: *cries as he runs and hides on the SR2*

Grunt: lucky bastard, i didn't have a mother. you think he would be happy now that he has 2.

Renegade Sheperd: shut up.

The Quarians aren't dying off and one Quarian wouldn't make a dent in their population.

Damn, you guys missed it?  That's a shame.

Wait a minute Lukertin you're just yankin us around aren't you?

No he's not. But it only appears if you beat ME 59 times in a row without dying. I'd post a pic, but I don't want to spoil it for you.

Given the right tech and a healthy dose of blood magic I'm sure something will be born. It is up to Bioware, bad things happen when you apply real science to fake species.

If it were possible, there would be Varren-Human hybrids running about the Normandy.

To quote the good doctor: "Disturbing Implications."

Actually it isn't possible with the other races.

Quarians have the same amino acid type as Turians, reproduction would be impossible
Salarians are amphibians that lay eggs
Krogans are infertile
Drell are basically reptiles
Vorcha have a different cell structure
Geth are robots
Batarians have 4 eyes, would your kids have 3 eyes?
Hanar are big stupid jellyfish
Rachni are bugs, and lay eggs via a queen
Keepers are also bugs, and non-sentient
Volus breathe and amonium atmosphere, couldn't be compatable
Elcor... Maybe there's a chance with elcor ;)

I think I've covered all of them.

I know this must have been asked before, but other than the asari, is it possible for two different species to have a child? I.E. Turian and Human. Or has this not been explained?

Not sure about Turians but Quarians have mammary glands so there's a chance that they are mammalian and may inter-breed.

T'ain't gonna work. I mean, just look at the base pair sequencing. In all probability, completely different nucleotide structure. It's going to mess up your transcription. Conception just wouldn't be possible.

Species have to have the exact same amount of Chromosomes to reproduce, never mind the huge differences among beings who evolved on entirely different PLANETS.

I'm not gonna pretend I know what I'm talking about, but I don't think that would work. Their DNA is in no way comparable, it's made of different stuff. The two gametes wouldn't even 'recognize' each other and the female's immune system (if not both) would probably go nuts.

Just a guess, but what I gather'd from in game conversations and the codex.

well then, Tali and maleshep can have all the unprotected sex they want. lolz

IF Tali somehow gets pregnant, maybe it will be the 'cure' for Quarians to be more resistant to infections!!

Pregnancy with another species (who isn't asari) would be impossible.

Our DNA is like 99% identicle to to that of an ape's and yet an ape and a human cannot have a child.

Interpsecies relationships? Sure.

Producing mixed offspring? Not gonna happen.
