Wouldn't Dominate be even better for this? It takes a longer time to cool down, yes, but it's something you would fire before entering combat. Scatters the enemy out of cover and focuses them off you, giving you a little extra breathing room when you do charge into combat. Pretty much the only advantage I can see Neural Shock having is that you can use it mid-combat, but with a Vanguard I figured all your cooldown times would be taken up with Charge. Dominate even benefits of biotic upgrades, allowing you to focus limited credit funds on your weapon and biotics, rather than tech concerns.RamsenC wrote...
Call me crazy but neural shock is starting to interest me. It has a 3 second cooldown so it won't interfere with charging, it can lock someone out of battle for 12 seconds, and afterwards the enemy receives an accuracy debuff (not sure by how much though).
Still trying it out but it sounds promising.

I don't think so, primarily because Dominate also needs defnses down to be used as well. The cooldown doesn't help either. I dunno, I'm still on my first Insanity run, but there's only a few places so far where I would ever have an opportunity to use this - basically on enemies on ledges where you can't normally path. Like on Grunt's or Mordin's recruit mission where there are Heavy Weapon troops.
The advantage for Neural shock is the quick cooldown I think, and the very long stun with perma accuracy debuff. Either way, I don't see how much use you would get out of either once you become pro at Charging everywhere.

Neural Shock also requires defenses be down, and from what was said earlier the stun comes off once the enemy takes damage. I don't know if that's TRUE or not, but it's kind of a moot point; level 4 Dominate also keeps an enemy under its effect for a full twelve seconds with the proper choice. Yeah, they do come off the effect with a permanent accuracy debuff, but my issue here is that with Dominate all the other enemies would redirect their fire towards the traitor. That lets you charge with impunity and a lot less damage taken, not to mention the other enemies will be weakened from actually shooting each other. The only real advantage over Dominate that I can see is the quick cooldown, but it feels like Dominate's effects would merge with Charge for more synergy and slightly lowered risk to life and limb.
The stun doesn't wear off when you begin attacking, I can attest to that. You can only have ONE stun active at a time though unless you evovle it to the area stun at level 4. Sometimes the stun will act weirdly too, because they will usually stand upwright with their arms outward, similar to how the Reave CC looks, and other times they will simply fall over. That might be why some have believed it wears off early.
You're right though that Dominate could end up saving you alot of trouble in certain spots by forcing them out of cover or makign them scatter. At the same time, you could simply have Tali along with the Drone and do the same thing, not using your own cooldown timer as a bonus. I just don't know how often I would use either power.
Right now I have squad cryo ammo and once defenses go down, I end up with 2 or 3 frozen bodies while I'm running around charging. I would be very frustrated to blow a Dominate only to have them fall over as a Icicle a moment later!

Pull is a good replacement for Neural Shock though. Same cooldown and disable time, but it also works on synthetics. The only downside is you won't have enough points to max it out unless you ditch squad cryo ammo (which I do not suggest). You could just live with tier 3 pull and wasted points in shockwave. However, synthetics have such little health that it's probably not worth it.

I dont see a point for katana tbh. But other than that i usually alter between this and the scimitar. I use scimitar when i know i will go up against shielded or barried enemies, vs armored i use eviscerator. If you can handle claymore you should pretty much always bring that though and its definitely a good weapon, i prefer to have an AR but its up to you.ElementCT wrote...
How does the Eviscerator Shotgun fair against the other three? Is it better?

I'd say that you should only use the Claymore if you are capable of using the fast reload trick while in the thick of combat, otherwise it's inferior in killing speed to Evi and Scimitar. (Page 15)

ME2 - Collectors vs. Cryo vs. Vanguard - Insanity
Took forever to figure out how to put it together and compress (originally something crazy like 6g) but got some advice from Average Gatsby.

How did you do a 6 minutes long video? My FRAPS records about 2 minutes into a 3GB file and the next 2 minutes are saved to another 3GB file etc.
Any advice would be welcome
The video is great btw

Used VirtualDub (open source) selected - File => Append AVI segment to put the next one in right after. Compress and voila!

Edit: Also with a little help from Average Gatsby, I've learned how to make longer vids with sound edits for free (seeing as FRAPS makes a new file after a few minutes and they're like 3g a piece). Also makes it available on Youtube in 720p HD... although it's not really HD, at least it's pretty good quality. PM me for the info.

Thanks, here is the result. I did the same sequence like you, only with Claymore and without squad cryo rounds.
www.youtube.com/watch
poor quality so far, will get better laters!

Excellent. And just what I'd expect: Plenty of 1-shot goodness.
Updated OP with vid.

Thank you
Though the quality is still poor, I will probably upload a better quality version later. Too bad I do not have a save with Squad Cryo Ammo at the start of the last mission and I did not feel like watching and playing that 10 minutes cutscene/fight just to get there;)
