Yep, some fights can be ended very fast. Good example is the Tali mission where you fight the Colossus in the end.

Some example videos:

ME2: Vanguard going head-to-head with Colossus

my version:

Another example is here:
sinosleep's version of Grunt mission, 2 rocket guys do not spawn..

Hmm nice. I didn't know you could charge into the Colossus like that. I finished it pretty fast too but not as close to that...

Here is my version of the 2 Heavy Mechs and Blue Suns fight.

What I immedietaly noticed is that the regular blue suns just did not spawn, only the main guy (Captain Narom) came after I killed the mechs

I used only my Claymore with Inferno Ammo and Miradna's Overload and Warp from time to time. Squad Cryo Ammo rocks! :)

Vanguard vs. 2 YMIR Mechs and Captain Narom

(quality will be much better /up to 1080p/ after its fully processed)

btw. I am now officialy a Pull fan, it is very useful in some situations, though I think Pull 1 might just be good enough, I currently have 6 points in Pull, I am gonna test this laters.

i didnt even bother trying to charge it, ive literally just done that mission, but i dont have the claymore...so its not really an option...blackstorm for the win!

You can easily kill the Colossus with any shotgun.

I use 10 point pull extensively on the reaper IFF mission and use it a fair amount on my suicide run vids. It's a great ability with a ludicrously tiny cool down making it perfect for vanguards.

I'm thinking about giving the claymore a second chance... don't know..

I'm actually starting to find the Claymore more and more useful.

Once you get hold of the reload trick, Claymore is usually a better choice.

I'd say when you get hold of the reload trick then it doesn't matter which one you use. If you don't manage the trick then the claymore is a liability ;)

What's up everyone? I just wanted to let you know that over the next day or so I'll be revising the OP with everything we've learned so far. Keep a look out for it and don't be alarmed if I send a couple PM's to the OG Vanguard crew for some bits of info (in case I can't find it in the 35 pages we've got going on here).

Epic! That's pretty much exactly how I did that fight too, though there were a handful of Blue Suns at the end. I guess if you're right near the door when they're triggered they don't spawn or something? I tried that fight a bunch of times sticking near where you start... then I just decided to charge like a madman and it actually worked. One thing I noticed too, that ramp with the glass walls, you're pretty much invincible up there. They don't come up and the rockets don't even mess if you up if they hit right in front of you.

@sinosleep, you have the sniper ye? i'd guess wasting the bonus would be better for you, but any claymorers would pick up a ranged bonus and drop the cryo, that about right?

Hey, do you guys know if Cryo Ammo stacks with other ammo types?

I heard this somewhere and I wanted to confirm it.

Thanks.

Not that I know of. If you have it on and a squad member turns on their own, it just overwrites it.

More fun with the Claymore!

Grunt's Loyalty mission. The last fight against Wor...I mean Uvenk was rather hectic. Especially when the charge failed right at the end...

Very nice, also you have my build exactly except i have maxed shockwave and only have 1 talent in barrier. I don't use any of them ever pretty much, but it looks better. I might reconsider getting the sniper, i use assault rifle myself but the viper looks pretty beast too.

I found out I do not need AR or SR, Heavy Pistol does great job for distant targets I cannot charge and SMG is great against swarms of husks etc., and Reave while still great is not better than Squad Cryo overall imho, plus you get some points to Pull, which works great even at rank 1.

my latest build:
Heavy Charge 10
Champion 10
Inferno 10
Squad Cryo 10
Shockwave 3
Pull 1
Reave 6

I tried Pull at rank 6 and it's not worth the extra 5 points, Pull Field is great though, but still not better than Squad Cryo imho.

Here is how to survive the Suicide mission with all members alive.

To lead first team, choose Jacob or Miranda

To go in vents, choose Tali or Legion

To lead second team, choose Garrus

To take survivors back to Normandy, choose Mordin

To take with you to fight final boss, choose anyone loyal to you (if you don't, non-loyal will die)

i'm thinking that energy drain is a possibility for claymore maybe? does dmg and gives you a shield bonus, and lack of shields when not charging is what gimps the vanguard at range. its got less overall uses than reave, but i think that you can always charge collectors etc, while unchargeable ranged foes generally are blue suns.

this is me just throwing out ideas, feel very free to shoot them down, i picked up AR and have area reave, although am seriously tempted to do your and sino's type build for warp explosion fun.
