barrier will get you killed because it eats up your cooldown forever. If you cant charge and are about to die, thisisme is right and medigel is a better choice.

Hey guys, just thought I'd let you know that video production is unfortunately going to come to screeching halt for me. I've been working part time as a night auditor at a local hotel since I was going to the police academy and didn't want to be going to school full time as well as going to work full time. I graduated in February (police hiring process takes a long time) and have been offered my old job back in the meantime starting Monday. While the job pays SUBSTANTIALLY higher than my current job, it's unfortunately a travelling job and as such I won't be in my home state, let alone at home, for most of the week. And since I own ME 2 on PC, that means no ME 2 unless it's a Saturday pretty much. I'll still be posting on the forums and such since I can do that from any hotel room, but the video production, and ME 2 playing in general is going to drop dramatically.

Isn't the cooldown like 3 seconds for medigel?  I actually started doing that after watching one of the first Adepting Through Insanity guides.  Full health and shields for the whole party with no need to invest in a defensive bonus power with minimal cooldown.  It's good.

Well congrats on the graduation and the job.  Will miss the vids, but as you said you will still be poking around in here, that's still good!

Good luck Sinosleep!

Just a general question for veteran vanguards... how often do you find yourself delivering headshots after the charge/melee combination?

If you have heavy charge it will make time slow, allowing you to aim for the head/neck/shoulder area every time you charge. Sometimes its better to aim at the neck/shoulder than the head to ensure no pellets miss.

congrats on the job sino, but commiserations on losing out on ME2 play. you have taught us well, its time to let us spread our vanguard wings on our own.

@BlueInkAlchemist, depends on what shotgun you're using really. If its katana/clay/evi then it should be nearly everytime, you gotta make the slow shot count, the scim is more of a spray and suppress wep, although you still shoot for the head during the slo-mo.

Within the past two days i've gtried to do another ME1 run to set up a FemShep and couldn't do it, then i tried to run on Adept and then a 'canon' FemShep for soldier and i just miss Vanguard too much, so tonight im about to start my first insanity run (on vanguard, on anything period).

Wish me luck!

I have to thank Average Gatsby for championing medi-gel use. For some reaon I never considered using it just as a pick-me-up in this game the same as I did in ME1. But now I have been and you still never really run out.

I never really realized it was uncommon to use Medi Gel like you did in ME1, to heal yourself. haha. but i gotta show love for The Average Gatsby.

Medi-gel is definitely nice and makes barrier less necessary, but thats why I suggest only putting 1 point in it. Unless you have a better idea for a bonus power its really no harm.

Also about Reave, casting it on health is not great, its average compared to what else you can do to health only enemies. I don't want to start the reave argument again though so I'll stop now :D

Congrats sinosleep, good luck with all the idiots you will run into once your'e a cop,

Congrats sinosleep! You'll have access to a shotgun as a cop right? Phone-cam real-life Vanguard vids?

Most satisfying fight in the game by far. Nothing feels better than shotgunning that piece of crap machine down at melee range. A much better alternative to the multiple death inducing follow-the-yellow-brick-road path that most classes have to take.

It took me 2 tries on my last Vanguard to drop that guy, and only because he started up his machine gun the first time. On the previous VG, it took me 8 tries using the conventional method because I would get overwhelmed by geth (especially Destroyers) before I could kill the Colossus.

Vanguards: The greatest thing since sliced bread.

As much as possible. As demonstrated in the video, a Charge -> headshot  (and sometimes melee) combo should finish off pretty much any standard enemy with the Evi. I find that with the Claymore I aim for the body/shoulders because the pellet spread is so large. That usually equals a one-shot though. A bit more precision is required with the Evi because it's so awesomely accurate.

You use the Evi the exact same way I use it. Huge reason I prefer the Evi is because of that accuracy. Its too bad all 8 shotgun pellets don't get rendered because then you could really see how much that accuracy is helping.

I've got admit that I'm starting to prefer the Evi over any other shotgun myself. None of the others can match it's speed when your doing headshots. Just had to get used to not being as sloppy with aiming as I was with the Scimitar.

@Sabre, i dunno, i just used virtualdub to create and compress a file using a seperate audio and video file, so youtube didn't know what the music was. i used youtubes own music thing now, because i don't want, extremely unlikely i know, any comeback from a video made for fun. although apparantly there will be adverts and stuff on it now 0.o

You don't have to worry about it.  Most songs will get matched, but they don't care because of agreements youtube has with the recording companies.  You'll see in videos that has the advertisement for the song pop up.  No big deal.  Any occasion that they aren't allowed to have the music, it will just mute the video for you.  They don't send the FBI or MI-5 to your house or anything like that.
