Don't think I'm going to make one with the Cain, its just too cheese. Grenade launcher has the appropriate amount of cheese for me. I wouldn't mind trying again with the launcher at some point, but I'd rather play a different mission :o

Dying like a Vanguard

Ah this is how the loading screen looks like for the Vanguard. Never seen it myself *cough*
Honest this is the best video ever thank you I'm still laughing. Funniest thing is how you can see every death comming.

Yeah, ultimately it's all about fun, the Cain idea came to me when I saw you using the grenade launcher against the big middle group. I do not like Cain at all, it looks too ridiculous strapped to Sheps back lol
I actually do not even enjoy Warp explosions, just give me Heavy Charge, Champion, Inferno rounds and a Claymore or Evi and I am a happy guy :D

edit: I also always take Claymore, never SR or AR 'cos I feel they do not belong to a Vanguard from role-playing view, and I can only stand a Grenade launcher or the Blackstrom on Sheps back. Yeah I know I am weird

You aren't alone about that, I always either take the rocket launcher or grenade because I find the others silly looking.(Never actually get around to using them tho')

My pleasure. I think... All in good fun :)

Same here. I usually take the Avalanche cause I think it looks neat and is the most fun to do silly things with. I always forget to use it though...

I'm the same way, but add drone to that. Just take tali around one day and try it out, it's nice having a little buddy following you around.

After looking at my speed run again I can do around 17 seconds better easily, which will end up around 2:50. Since that's a ton of time I might have to suck it up and do it again.

Has anyone tried out the Arc Projector yet? I went on vacation to Florida on the day it came out and I'm Xbox-less for 2 weeks.

How does it feel to use on a Vanguard?

It looks like it has potential.  I plan on taking it with me for a while to get the feel of it.  The stun and chain effects are pretty nice.  Really excited to see it in action on Garrus' loyalt mission.  Check out my Complete Control video to see it in action at around 1:40.

Looks pretty fun! Not really a fan of charge-up weapons but it seems short enough, and the stun/damage seem to be pretty good. I can't wait to try it out.

Maybe it will replace the Avalanche as my staple weapon, who knows...

I am the same way, the cain is annoying on Sheps back. The GL and firestorm are the only acceptable looking heavy weapons.

I feel the same way about armor.  I've been going for looks more than anything with my armor.  I love the Avalanche and it doesn't look half-bad so I take it with me everywhere.  I like that the Arc is unnasuming on Shepard's back, which is a big plus.

Hey, all you video makers... I know several of you guys like pulling off Biotic Combos and what-not between Charging. Is there any way I could convince any of you to make some videos with team coord for Warp Explosions, Pull/Throw Combos and maybe a little Tech in there too? All fair game, Warp, Pull, Slam, Reave, Shredder Ammo, whatever.

Shredder Ammo was a joke

Edit:  The videos should kind of specifically show off the teamwork aspect.

Watch the first video in my signature. The first biotic combo I use is pull+charge, and I use several warp explosions setup by my scimitar or reave.

I was thinking along those lines. I have some ideas, just not enough time. I haven't even played in two days. Two. Days.

Are people still using Squad Cryo ammo these days?

I want to, I really do; Cryo abilities are completely BA. But the fact that squadmates will overwrite it with their own crappy ammo power makes me mad. This isn't a problem for some since you could just run with Miranda and Samara or something and avoid the issue altogether. But I am usually pretty static when picking my squad; I usually bring Miranda and she doesn't give me issues, but after her I will almost always take Garrus, Jacob, or Thane due to personal preference.

Because of this I've been thinking of tryig out the Pull Field build. I still love Squad Cryo, but it Miranda is the only one making use of my 10 points is it really worth it?

I like squad cryo a lot, but you cant bring teamates who have squad ammo or they will keep over writing it.

Exactly, which is why I'm just not sure if it's worth the point investment since I like taking particular squadmates.

I know that I can do the X+A glitch on them once I get enough points or they unlock their bonus ammo power, but that requires me to gimp that character for half of my time with them. Not sure I it's worth it.

I usually go with shockwave/pull and one point in barrier, just for that reason. So annoying when you bring a squad member with ammo powers. Also I've noticed that I tend to kill 90% if not more of the enemies, and the faster you kill them the less benefit you get from Cryo.(or thats my take)

Well for me I seem to use CHARGE on snipers and rocket launcher guys. However I do admit it tends to get a bit messy where I am surrounded by 3-6 guys bodygaurding the sniper. Honestly Vangaurd has been one of my favorite AT's since 1 but I still say Adapt and Infiltrator have been my top. Also a good stratagey to use and a good way to get the 'BRAWLER' achievement is to put on barrier/geth barrier,or fortification, walk up to a guy, elbow him then blast him at point blank range with the shotgun. Also good vangaurd duos seemi to be like Thane/Garrus to offer sniping while takeing Miranda along for attack boosting. I found Tali and Jacob hard for me to work along with Vangaurd wise and occasion Mordin, Jack and Samara/Monrith useful because they help you bioteclly as opposed to just help you with guns. Grunt helps but he's to much like a vangaurd and might get in your way.
I do admit I have mishapps and tend to go charge crazy (Took out three guys back to back and my allies were running towards my side to catch up to me) But I think Vandaurd is a good class to run through harder difficulties more easier than some classes.

To all the new people who are wondering about builds, all you need to know is that if you are trying to maximize the performance of your vanguard there are only 3 crucial talents to max. Heavy Charge, Champion, and Inferno Ammo. Once you have those 3 talents it is entirely personal choice on what else you get. Reave is easily one of the best skills in the entire game, so I personally recommend that. As for whether you should take squad cryo or pull, I say take squad cryo because pull is better when your squadmates use it for several reasons (doesnt use your cooldown, is instant, etc)

I don't know if I went champion but I took cryo ammo in place of inferno. when I maxed out cryo ammo and took sniper rifle training, I created one crazy combo. I would cryo ammo freeze a guy, then heavy charge which killed a target INSTANTLY regardless of armor and barrier strength.

You want to use inferno ammo on yourself, and squad cryo on your teamates. Trust me.

Yeah, but it makes the game way too easy.

I like reave, but I'll never use it again. It's the definition of an "I Win" button in this game, and I want to stay away from that. I like to stay away from what's most powerful in most games, and in Mass Effect 2 that's Reave.

SImply put, it's TOO useful, and I don't like any ability that I can spam ad nauseum to clear a room. The Vanguard has all the tools it needs already built in.

Yeah, reave is a good power in many ways, but it stops me, or at least limits, playing the vanguard how "i" prefer, which is repeatedly charging and shotgunning things to death. That is just the way i enjoy playing most, so i don't pick reave. If you prefer to strip a few defences yourself before going in, or play a ranged/controlling type of vanguard like sabre and thisisme8 have started to demonstrate, then reave could be just what you're looking for. If you prefer to be the primary source of damage, mixed with tank, and want to use shotguns, avoid reave.
