is vanguard w/ dominate any good? note that I mainly use it on veteran and heavy emphasis on squad cryo and shockwave. Yes, shockwave. I am quite aware that I'm bizarre.
Never tried Dominate but AI hacking on organics sounds like win. And you are NOT wierd for using shockwave, ragdoll effects as your targets go flying in the air like bowling pins never gets old. The screaming is fun too.
EDIT: I should mention I'm currently trying a hardcore vanguard playthrough with bonus power of Reave, I find I'm using that most, always looking for opportunities to go bowling though. Shockwave is just cool.

Inferno ammo
Improved Cryo (See Cruz1ale's Who Needs Squadmates videos to see why)
Improved shockwave
Area Reave
Champion or Destroyer- Not sure. Which do you think would suit this build better?
1 Point in pull
The idea is to use Reave to damage barriers and provide CC. Use shockwave to stagger/distract enemies and advance aggressively but tactically. Cryo and Inferno ammo for further damage boost and CC. 1 point in pull to do warp combos.
What do you guys think? And also, if you do miraculously approve of this experiment, which weapon specialization do you think I should choose.

In truth, that's how I ran my Vanguard/Hardcore run, too. Reave is just too useful a power, and it's not an insanely long cooldown either. I found that with Reave for long distance stuff, and Charge/shotgun for close-range stuff, I had enough tricks in my bag for most situations.
Husk-bowling with Shockwave -is- the win though. It really does never get old....

Thanks to the ammo powers, the enemies fell almost as quickly as with a soldier. And after 6 playthroughs, I prefer instant shield recharge plus slow motion anytime over slow motion plus slight damage increase. Soldiers out, Vanguard is the new soldier!

4 squad incendiary
0 cryo
4 heavy charge
1 pull
4 champion
4 area reave
for weapons i used the carnifex hand cannon, locust smg, vindicator assault rifle, eviscerater shotgun, and the cain (switched to rocket launcher for the protect quarian side mission)
i highly recommend area reave as it drains enemy health and gives you a health bonus and stuns them for several seconds. it also does double damage to shields/barriers and armor. i used the smg with incendiary ammo and reave along with a squadmates' overload and/or tali's energy drain (which takes down an enemy's shields and restores hers) to take the down the shields of a large group. then i crippled an enemy or 3 with reave then took out the shotgun and charged across the battlefield from enemy to enemy. just be safe with your charges, charge into a group of no more than 3 unshielded enemies and make sure there's a spot for cover. oh and on insanity obviously the tougher enemies are often barried/shielded and/or armored and these guys are bold they will walk right up to you and try to shoot at point blank range. if you can't get them vulnerable enough in time, tali or legion's attack drone works wondering at giving you a few extra seconds to lower their defenses and finish them off.
i had trouble with the collector trap. some tips for that are: send the attack drone after harbinger and use the vindicator assault rifle. in experimenting, i learned that the vindicator assault rifle is much more effective than the collector assault rifle or geth pulse rifle. i tried probably 15 or 20 times with the collector's assault rifle before trying out the vindicator assault rifle and beating it the first try. i didn't have the locust smg at the time but i imagine that would help as well.

With the recent talk on the forum about cooldowns and rounded numbers... did anybody actually try Destroyer? Or are people claiming that Champion is the way to go, just because nobody proved otherwise?
The cooldown time is not rounded. It is a minor difference, between Destroyer and Champion, but even a split second may save your ass sometimes. Also, the 100% Paragon/Renegade bonus is the main reason I go Champion. The extra weapon damage Destroyer provides is useless for me, I use Claymore all the time, plus with the latest armor (Aegis DLC pack) you get insane weapon damage bonus anyways.

Can you pause like you can on PC? If you can, you could pause and line up charges with the camera.
Yeah I sometimes pause, but I love playing realtime better because I find it fun and I don't want to lose my pride XD.

True that coming from ME1 Vanguard I got confused at first and died countless times charging in the wrong place. After some practice, nothing beats Charge / Shotgun / Melee !
Anyway, wanted to chip in re: Dominate, when Charge isn't possible, getting down protections with SMG and then Dominate one enemy works wonders. Enjoy the show of them fighting each other... CHARGE!

For some time now the Claymore/Scimitar/Eviscerator have all been considered fairly equal. I wonder, does the new Aegis armor change that at all? With the obscene amount of melee damage on it, I wonder if perhaps it causes the Eviscerator to pull ahead of the other two shotguns, given that Eviscerator users rely on melee damage more than users of the other shotguns.
Not really. 2 well placed scimitar shots (will equal to the same speed as one evi shot) can outright kill grunt enemies. Anything that doesn't get killed can eat the plates from the kestrel armor.
