theres nothing wrong with being gay, but consider this:
1) only a small % of the population is gay
2) gaming forums are at least 80% men
which means most of the guys here would be straight, just simple statistics/logic!

Huh? I played femshep in ME1 and romanced Kaiden. Got a lovely shot of her arse in the bedroom scene. Couldn't care less about Alenko but femsheps naked butt is awesome.
so you are ok with having to go through the dialogue of flirting with another man??
are you a gay?

Could it be that we are just interested in seeing how the relationships play out?

i alrdy said i have nothing against gay ppl
i just dont see why a STRAIGHT MAN attracted to WOMEN AND NOT TO MEN would want to roleplay as a female to flirt AGRESSIVELY with other men! I've seen the youtube videos, you rly do flirt aggressively!
am i the only one who sees how ridiculous that is?

In a way many might be trying to create a character that they, personally, feel would fit the part. If the puppeteer is male and feels that a female best suits the role then they would play it out how they like from there, engaging in romances is simply dependant on whether or not they wish it in their story. The great thing about interactive roleplays is that they offer the player the opportunity that one would normally miss in your more linear stories. For example, take a horror movie where some idiot suggests that the group should split up; in a roleplay you can play the person who goes over to that idiot and smacks him or her over the head.
Again, just guesswork, there are likely a variety of reasons players would have their characters take part in romances that they would otherwise shy away from in life.

three things:
1. It's a game
2. It's escapism
3. It's roleplaying
The games allow you to try all kinds of things you would not do in real life, ever. Simple as that. You can't compare real life and games like you do. That would lead to generalisation that every man playing game with female character is gay or at least bi-sexual. Yeah, right.
Grow up.

My characters a guy, but maybe some people think the girl they created is hot and want to see her do things.
Or maybe they want to uncover all aspects of the game, and don't feel their sexuality is defined by a video game.

I feel no discomfort or homophobia in doing so because roleplaying is just a form of storytelling, not wish fulfillment or subconscious fantasizing. I write professionally, sometimes from female perspectives, sometimes in first person, so perhaps it is easier for me than it is for some to separate myself from the character.
Does this help answer what was simply an honest question, or are you a troll?

I am a straight man. I play femshep because I prefer Hale's voice acting.
Have to agree with you on the voice acting. Male Shepard sounds so dead as opposed to female Shepard. I have difficulty keeping awake sometimes when listening to him drone on. Of course, this is my opinion from ME 1; have yet to hear male Shepard in ME 2.
