The first would definetly be:

"Men starting stupid/homophobe/offensive threads just because of their sexual insecurity - WHY?!"

Homos attacking straight guys.

That should be the prevailing theme of 90% of ****** discussions.

Get off his case, he raises a valid point.  What kind of guy would play as a chick and sweet talk a dude?

It's called sexual frustration. Men who are not satisfied with their love life (or do not have one) enjoy controlling a female character in games, engaging in heterosexual romance, feeling that they can only do that if they have complete control over the woman participant.

There are countless excuses, for instance that they don't want to look at their male characters during the game, not realising that with that they just prove that they are looking at the game differently, pursuing sexual experiences in it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging, none of us are flawless and this isn't such a big deal for a teenager. However, if you're no longer a teenage boy or you're in a relationship, maybe even married and still prefer playing female characters, then you should probably stop and look at this warning sign and think about what's wrong.

On the other hand, playing with a randomly thought up "tough guy" or "pretty boy" can be almost as bad - again, not for a teenager, obviously -, because it means you're not at peace with your looks or who you are.

am i the only one who will admit that this is true?<_<

RPG gamers aint exactly the most socially accepted and attractive group, loosen up people.

What kind of guy would read a book where the protagonist is a chick? What kind of guy would watch a movie where a guy and girl make out? What kind of guy would read something written by a women?

Oh wait, most. Because the premise is so absolutely ridiculous it's mindnumbing. Just because you take an option in a video game does not mean you're actually doing it. You weren't driving a Mako. Playing Red Baron won't qualify you for a pilot licence.

Most of that makes sense to me.  My roommate always plays a female blood elf in WoW.  Never had a gf, never does anything.  And we go to University of Florida.

I will disagree with the macho male avatar though, my Renegade Shepard looks like a cross between Bruce Willis and Jason Statham so I can ROFL while he goes around the galaxy kicking ridiculous amounts of ass, Die Hard style.

reason 1. to get the achievement?!

reason 2. you want to try something new, play as female and do every possible thing you can, missions, love ect.

There's definitely females playing this game, they might play as male shepard and go do the love stuff with a female squad member, is there any problems with that?

It's a game damn, you have options, consequences, everything, there's nothing wrong in what you do in game, you control it at the end of the day :/

You're not in control of the actions in book, or film.

Your argument is depressingly frail.

If you consciously choose a chick avatar, and consciously choose to sexy talk a dude, I gotta raise some questions about you.

Playing as a chick is fine, but when you start to romance a dude without any achievement point reward, then.... yeah.  Pretty much says it all.

One with an imagination?  One who can tell the difference between fantasy and reality?  One who has something resembling an education?  One who is pretty secure in his own sexuality and doesn't freak out thinking "someone" "somewhere" might think he's gay just because he touched another guy for more than three seconds?  One with enough of a spine to stand up for himself?  One who doesn't want to be lumped in with all the ignorant stupid homophobic morons?  Or possibly, one who doesn't want to stare at a guy's ass for thirty-odd hours because frankly, that's pretty damn gay.

But then, so is watching men in tight pants run back and forth, hurl leather around, knock each other down, and give each other big sweaty hugs.

I guess any actor that's every played a transgender individual is... what? Acting? No... that can't possibly be it. It makes far more sense for every male who ever plays a female character to always be a lesbian. Yes, that makes more sense. Can't wait for Samus to start scissoring. Lara Croft, whoa boy, this is going to be hawt!

Or, you know, some people are capable of separating themselves from a persona.

Dunno bout you, but when I was in high school, 99% of the acting club was homos.

i read a lot of posts on this forum about ppl romancing garrus or jacob or w/e, and i'm wondering how many of those ppl are guys? it just seems kind of .. gay.. if youre a man and you play a female character so you could sweet talk another man into bed.

so does this forum just have a disproportional amt of females compared to other gaming forums or ... what? whats going on..

Mass Effect is a role playing game. That means, if you're a guy and want to play as a female Shepard, and romance male characters, you can. If you want to dress your Shepard up in black leather and have him dance the YMCA in Afterlife, no problem.

It's true.

All of Hollywood? Gay. Even those married ones. Total homos. Kids? All adopted. Don't worry about.

Jennifer Hale is the best of the two Shepard voice actors. Also she is one of the best in the business and my favorite voice over actor ever. So its a no brainier really. I always play both sexs and try out every romance option. To do less is to miss out on a lot of dialog and character interaction.

Any guy who feels gay at playing a girl in a -one player game- most likely has deep seated sexuality issues.

This is more than likely true, though not always the case.

If you feel your hackles rising after reading it though, it's definitely true.

^This (well I actually like ManShep's voice better, but everything else is spot on Image IPB). I swear there are way too many 13 year olds on this forum, "OMG THATS SOOO GHEY" ... get over it.

I didn't play a femShep, but I watched briefly someone else play and I have to admit that Jennifer Hale's delivery is very well done. Second playthrough will definitely be a girl. Guess that gives me psychological trauma of some sort. Probably stemming from all those beatings my mother gave me with an electric wire.

I'm playing my second playthrough as femShep, so I guess I must be a sexually repressed closet gay using the game as nothing more as escapism to get away from my depressing life. I probably also have a small penis, am fat, ugly and stupid and have never talked to a real girl in my life without vomiting through nerves.

Damn.

At least you're not alone. We should start a support group. No wait, we have Female Shepard to play as to work through all our problems.

And thank god Garrus is there to hold us is his big strong manly arms, gals like us need that kind of support from a man.

Oh how I wish Garrus was real :(

It helped some of us discover the anti social small penis'd nerd-girl within us, so as to let her freely into the arms of our manfantasy Garrus.
