So after a LOT of trial and error I decided to give a go at making my own ME1 Shepard again and finally got something that I thought was pretty darn good. She's vaguely Mandy Moore inspired. The fact that the Steam overlay has a built in web browser now made this a lot easier.

I wrote down the slider values if anyone is interested. I'll post them on request.

I like pretty Shepards, I don't care if it's "realistic" or not.  They didn't make her body super muscular or anything so it's not like there's a mismatch and who mandated that strong women can't be beautiful anyway?  Also regarding the age - in the ME universe, humans can now live to 150.  Longevity like that can only mean that they've slowed down the aging process either through drugs or genetics, so it's perfectly reasonable that even at 30, Shepard could like like she's still in her early 20s.

Is there a link to a website on these codes and how to use them?

I second Starchs. I am a bit mystified by which slider each code number/letter goes with and how to use them in ME1.

I think that character looks really good, can you send me the sliders? I just purchased ME and I cannot create a female face I like. I would appreciate it!

I want to address what somebody asked a few pages back. Probably already covered but I'm pushed for time reading the whole thread.

If you want to recreate your ME1 face in ME2 and make changes. Simply start a new ME1 import game... ignore the facial reconstruction menu the first time and start the game as far as miranda telling you to get off the operating table..

Go into the character menu and your Shep's face code is displayed above your shep's head. Write it down, then restart the game.

This time, when you get to facial reconstrunction select the "enter code" option input the code and hey presto, you get your ME1 Shepards face in the appearance editor rather than the default and you can tinker to your hearts content.

This works for both XBox and PC.

HTH

EDIT: DOH! I've just been told this some people don't have the code in the squad menu display for imported ME1 characters. Not sure it it's a glitch or not as mine does.

I could do with some help with this aswell. Does the numbers and letter match exactly with the sliders in ME1 or is there some variation? I tried matching an ME2 code in ME1 (on the xbox) and it doesn't look the same at all, especially around the mouth/jaw area. Maybe there are slightly more slider options in ME1 than there is in ME2 which could make it differentiate slightly?

They match more or less exactly. I was able to recreate one female Shepard from memory of slider positions in ME1. The graphics have been enhanced between games and the giraffe neck syndrome has been cured but that's about it for changes.

Yup here you go.  Start with the default custom female face (red head with freckles) and if I don't have a value listed here, that means you don't change it from what it's already set at.  Slider all the way left is 0, so 1 means 1 click to the right. (So to set like 15, first drag the slider all the way to the left, then count 1 clicks on the right arrow).

I don't list the scar, makeup, or hair values because they're easy enough to figure out on your own and you can set them to your own taste.

complexion - 0

neck thickness - (I forgot to write this down. I think it was somewhere around  5-8; pretty far to the left in any case)
face size - 13
cheek width - 15
cheek bones - 15
cheek gaunt - 1

eye height  - 7
eye width - 13
eye depth - 13
brow depth - 11
brow height - 5

chin height - 23
chin depth - 1
chin width - 22

mouth width - 1
lip size - 16
mouth height - 5

nose height - 4
nose depth - 2

They're not that exact. I think it may vary by overall face type, because some ME1 faces often look pretty noticably different when imported into ME1, but yeah others don't.

The face with the values above did import perfectly into ME2 for me.  Looks even better than it does in ME1 (mostly due to better hair and skin textures in ME2) without any changes.
