Whatever was said between me and Gaider, has no relation to this topic, so if you're going to say crap about whatever went, you're just adding more fire to the flame war, and is bringing the tread down. So take your righteous attuide and put it as a PM, it doesn't belong in this forum, this forum is meant to discuss the Character of Ander/balance between serious and funny character in the game and nothing else. This dispute has gone long enough. Additional fighting here is not making an once of difference, its turning this forum away into something ugly. Its an understatement, when I say, this junk needs to stop.

Fine fine I jumped the gun on this one. Well guess we'll wait and
see what happens. Maybe hes not too bad. I just got the first
impression he looked like some generic character, I was expecting some
new different hair style or something, or some different unqiue added facial feature, since this is an expansion. Though I hope they do. I like to see more custom options from bioware in the game. I'm sure bioware
will deliver in the end, like they did with DAO gameplay wise. I
probably shoudn't get too caught up on appearances, thats why theres a
modding community

Read this Whatever stuff, if you're curious about my Thoughts about him before

WARNING: I'm going to RANT OUT Ander.

Great Awaken sounds cool. But are you really feelin this Anders guy. I mean he looks like a look alike of Duncan with combination of Alistair. The guy has the same hair. This looks like something a modder can create, I was hoping more of a original look like in the concpt art. Something a modder can't make, giving another reason why to buy it. Instead this Ander guy looks like a mesh together rip off. And what makes this worse is that hes a humorous apostate, which is depicted in the commerical. A Apostate with a sense of humor making crack wise jokes. COME ON!!!! For goodness sakes apostates are run away mages. You think they be bitter harden beings who are Bad@&! since they're being hunted by templars, for their lives. Magical beings are usually shunned by society in the game. Because of fear of their power, indiviuals of noblity who are found to have magical abilities lose their rank and title because of that. Plus being isolated in a tower for most likey the rest of their lives, that sound like second lowest towards the elves. Take another step down, and you have apostate, these guys should be freakin Rebels man. The freakin rock stars, who hates the world. But no, instead we get a apostate with punch lines, wow. "I didn't do it." jess

I mean come on, its weird enough that pretty much everyone in your party has this freaky sense of humor, that contradicts the this dark game, its werid enough that while youre killing freakish bloody monster, you have Alistair making crack wise jokes. I feel its totally unbalance, theres not really a serious bad-A myterious party character other then sten. And I like that about Sten, even though he sounds terrible in the beginning of the game, tribal harden warrior with a man superioty ego, theres a type of strange profoundness about him, you want to now more about. Thats the type of quality I want more of the DAO party memebers to have. A type of suddenness, actually deep characters. Sadly you only get him to open up mostly, if you make renegade tough mean choices. For once I like to see a mysterious deep serious party character, designed for Paragon suposed good choices.

I like to see that type of balance in the game. Seriousness with Humor, al least, especially in a game that about the world coming to an end. Or whatever horrible existance if they don't stop something something from happening. Theres too much of it, that the grim doesn't really feel grim, or suposedly dark.

I wish there was a character like duncan (personality wise) that would at least be serious.

Leliana and Wynne don't count, they're way too funny at times, and Leliana, sure considering her past, but its hard to find a type profound deepness about her, and take her seriously, with that glamour girl attitude. It kinda ruins it for me.

Anyway I hope ya get where I'm coming from :pinched:

But for once that I like to have a character design I wouldn't want to change, well probably that impossible, Since everyone has their own preferences.

Gee... do you think?

thank you, (sigh) pretty much everyone here is crucifying me here cause I think differently. Does it hurt to have some alittle difference in how a character looks, especially if hes a companion.
ty seriosuly man

It doesn't hurt, but you appear to have a pretty high regard for your own preferences if you honestly believe that nobody likes the character appearances or that we don't put any thought into them. The fact that modders have access to the same tools we do and can change them to match whatever their own preferences are is for their convenience.

Oh -- incidentally, thank you very much for sending me a clarification on your true opinion while you backpedaled on the forums... and then blocked me so I could not respond. It's kind of funny really, but now at least I get to sleep easy at night knowing what you really think! Image IPB
