Has anyone seen female Turian, Salarian, Volus? Where are they?

I understand that Krogan females are very rare (perhaps we will get one as companion in ME3) and Asari are unisexual but what about other species? I understand that adding females means adding more models for developers (we already have no children because of this) but sometimes it seems little odd. It would add to the diversity of game NPCs - perhaps something to consider in third part of the series?

Indeed, they're missing.

The lack of Salarian females is (mostly) explained by codex information that most Salarians are male, and females tend to stay on their worlds.

That there still weren't any female Turians this time around is strange indeed though. There's nothing I've seen to indicate that they have any less gender equality than humans in the ME universe seem to.

Maybe they don't know what they want the females of those species to look like. I think it would be slightly odd, if ALL the other females looked like human females...

Cynic's thought: if a race is so "alien" as to be unattractive, its females will not be shown -- except when one wants to introduce a grotesque parody of female-ness, usually in the form of a monstrous uber-mother (like the darkspawn broodmother). After all, the first and often only purpose of women is to look and be as f*ckable as possible. Hubba hubba bewbies!

Well there are Krogan females... though there dead now. Also I at least always thought the Salarian council member was female.

to the males of her species yes. you could expect that this isn't limited to form. The volus, any insect races, Hannar, and Elcor would be more attractive because of subtle things like pheromones. And note that that only applies when in heat. Females of many species tend to want to left alone with not in estrus (explains why they don't need to be on ships and in hostile extraplanetary settings). The sexes of those races like the quarian males and females wouldn't be morphologically different.

unless as mentioned they are brooding monstrocities.

perhaps there should be a resort world (Rigel 7) in the next game where we can encounter females in their preferred environments? and then blow it all to holy hell.

They're in the concept artbook.

Really, they're not going to be doing double the amount of assets just to show all the different genders for the aliens. At least they're getting more mention in the game (and... really, it's probably best this way. I don't want to see Salarians with large knockers, thanks.).

Female aliens (other than Quarians) got cut because of time/money constraints. Sad that they're a no-show, but I hope they'll be available as DLC or in ME3.

In fact, ME3 should be nothing but female aliens. Maybe the genophage could go wrong, spread to other species, and mutate them all into women. Instead of having intergalactic space battles, we'll settle conflict through knitting.

You didn't play ME1, where multiple characters refer to him as 'he'?

BioWare said months ago that they were too lazy to make female models of most species

I know, I was being facetious.

Also, I don't know you well enough to judge when you're joking. After seeing some of the comments made around here, I can fully understand an interstranger thinking that Garrus is female.

We do see a female Krogan on Tuchanka (by the Shaman, I think). I've wondered if we are seeing female turians and are just unable to differentiate them from the males. Could be the same with the Hanar and Volus. We are seeing both genders, but the phenotypes are similar enough that humans can't tell the difference.

This sounds like an intergalactic racist comment lol! "Y'all look the same!"

I'm sure I also remember reading a quote from a dev along the lines of some of the species may be female, and whos to say they arent? A turian in ME1 once said "all you Humans look the same" or something like that. So to us they all look the same. I wouldnt be surprised if it turned out most Elcors we've met are female either for some reason.

Not a Female Krogan. He's a representative from the Female Camp. The difference in voices is because he's actually an adolescent Krogan.

All the Asari look the same to me. :pinched:

But I think that specific Krogan is just the envoy to the female clan. I think its still suppose to be a male.
