Why i would want to keep her? Because she is a quite powerful being. My Shepard was not just an anti-hero but someone who loves to kill the weak and acknowleges strength by power (at least as far as options were given that way).

I was furious when i couldn't leave the Thorian alive in ME1. It was completly out of character for my Shepard.

I think Morith deserves to live as long as she is powerful and able to survive. I also think she's far more likely to stay with me in ME3.

You know, I really can't come up with a reason to go with Morinth. But I'm really not the one to ask here, since I'm just now doing my first ever renegade playthrough (in either ME1 and ME2) and I gotta tell ya, I feel like an as*hole. So there's a reason NOT to pick Morinth - so you don't feel like an as*hole. Harhar.

a super powerful biotic with no moral code who can MELT YOUR BRAIN? now that's even more useful.

But only when she has sex with them. So unless you want to send her around humping all of the Collectors on the battlefield I'd say Samara's the only smart/non-hilarious choice.

4. Something Morinth brings up later onboard the ship. She may have been misjudged at it seems she was looking for someone strong enough to make it through the mating ritual, Shepherd being a most likely candidate. Ardat Yakshi are powerful, imagine what would happen if one were to have offspring especially if Shep was a powerful biotic him/herself.

Ahh yes the ulimate renegade shep mind melding and having a child with the Ardat Yakshi. Proud father and mother of the next evolution ultimate serial killer with mind control and biotics beyond the imagination. A lofty goal for someone out to save the galaxy.

She isn't some sad sack looking for some mate to be strong enough to live beside her and raise a kid with the white picket fence and all. She is looking for a likely victim able to advance her problem and make more little crazy serial killers.

Now I did find a few of the hints in the game interesting. Are these Ardat Yakshi the eventual end result of the Asari, and they are destroying or hiding them because they know the galaxy would revolt if even the hint of mind control was leaked out, even as the stuff of legends. People don't freak out about overt things like throw and lift, but they do freak out, about not knowing if they are thinking and doing things of their own choice, never knowing if your choices are yours or someone elses is scary. These Asari rarities if widely known, could destroy that whole race in the eyes of the council.

Morinth is superior in combat IMO. She has what is essentially AI Hacking for organics. I'm looking forward to owning some Collectors with it.

As for reasons why Shepard would pick her... If we're speaking renegade, Shepard wants the most powerful team. The fact that Shepard is the most powerful in the bunch(and damn well knows it)and can resist Morinth's control(provided you had enough progression down either alignment to have the skill necessary), he/she would see the use in Morinth's mind control. Aside from this ability, she's just as powerful as Samara, and once you think about it, will only get more powerful in time. A renegade Shepard commands his/her authority. He/she can keep Morinth in line, so why not?

I dont think it would destroy them.
Besides all asari seem to have some sort of mild mind control to make the atractive to all species if you listen in on the salarian/human/turian watching the asari dancer it kind of suggests it...Shes just more powerful in that way...Again she could be very useful if you can control her.

Simple answer:

You resisted her mind control only partly. While she did not manage to gain outright control over you, she did gain a certain degree of influence on you.

For added roleplaying credit, sleep with her after the suicide mission, proving once more that your judgment fails when you're around her.

I have the same problem recruiting Jack.  None of my sheps (even my Renegon sheps) would EVER recruit her.  The only way I can do it is by meta-gaming.  She's not as crazy as she looks, but at the moment of recruitment my shep does not know that.  This is the main reason I can't stand Jack.  You really don't have the option to not take her (you have to go out of your way and get pretty creative to avoid it which also involves lots of meta-gaming.)  I'm just pleased they gave me the option to turn Morinth down.

In short, no, I don't see an in-game reason for taking Morinth unless your shep is just a really mean/powerful sort who successfully resists her and then wants to keep her as a trophy.

How do you avoid recruiting Subject Zero???

You choose Morinth to advance train domination. If your evil youd love to have a succubi in your party lol. (Plus, she always tells you she thinks youd live.)

Here's a reason; for a renegade Shepard to use her body for scientific purposes. After all, the ability to have ever-increasing biotic potential could be very useful -- especially once replicated.

Samara, compared to Shepard, is no threat regardless of whether you're renegade or paragon. If you're paragon, she'll like you -- if you're renegade, then the tactics you'd employ to get her to back off the same way Nihlus did would mean you'd still be able to manipulate her.

But weighing your options, regardless of whether someone is an enemy or ally, Samara represents an absolute -- a constant, easily manipulated. Someone like Morinth however, is a psychopath and addict. Therefore, from a strategic point of view Samara will always be the winner.

And besides, if you want the power "Dominate" so badly then use a save game, recruit Morinth, reload, take Samara and research advanced training (Dominate will still appear. Ta-daahh. It's tied in with the achievement).

In short... no, there's no reason to pick Morinth.

Hmm, I'm not sure if it's because I recruited Morinth on the previous playthrough, or if the option was always there - I don't remember seeing it before - but on my new playthrough, Domination was available as a bonus power. So they'll be no need to pick Morinth, really.

Why do I have a weird feeling that you would have to kill the opposing character in ME3? Like if you killed Samara in ME2, you might eventually get the option of killing Morinth in ME3?

Well I for one was 95% paragon when i took on this loyalty quest and I got the chance to kill Samara. very wierd. While listening to Morinth's reasons at the fight i actually felt sorry for her. I mean she didnt choose to be this ardat yakshi, but she is. kinda like the old saying of the frog and the crocodile crossing the river and the croc eats him or bites him and the frog asks why he did it and the croc says its in his nature....(can't remember how that story actually goes or which animals but its similar). its just kinda odd how there are only 3 ardat yakshi and they are ALL Samara's daughters. i think Morinth was right that the asari didnt want the galaxy to know that they are capable of this. maybe thats why they mate with other species. think about it...if this got out and that was the next evolutionary leap for the asari, the galaxy would create a genophage for these killers......

If they were well known they would hire salarians to find a way to prevent it from happening.

Morinth lies ... a lot.
If you kill her you can ask Samara about that line, you get a foolproof answer to it.

Ardat-Yakshi are sterile, they cannot have children. They are not a future, they are genetic dead end.

For the record, Morinth's voice actor sounded way better imo than Samara's space samurai. I wish you got to keep Morinth as Morinth and not have her impersonate Samara. I mean if I'm renegade enough to kill Samara I think I'm renegade enough to keep my crew in line to not get pissed that I took in Morinth. I mean I activated Grunt AND a geth wearing my armor. Having an Asari Ardat Yakshi daughter of a Justicar shouldn't be that big of a leap to believe for a crew of assassin's, criminals, and murderers.

Can anyone come up with a good in-game reason that will justify choosing Morinth? A reason that a smart Shepard can use.

While Samara has said that your code is her code, while on the mission, she also said that she'd be forced to kill you afterward if you're bad.   Morinth won't eventually kill you for bad behavior.. she likes that.  She might kill you getting all snuggly with you, but that's avoidable.  ;)

It's about a scorpion and a frog...

... and Ardat Yakshi are sterile to begin with. A modified Genophage wouldn't do a great deal...

Edit: dammit. Ninja'd.
