Protheans - Gift of Fire to Mankind

Zeus sent most of the Titans (all advanced intelligent life) to Tartarus to punish them for fighting against him in the Titanomachy(the cycles of the reapers), but since second-generation Titan Prometheus had not sided with hisaunts, uncles, and brother Atlas,Zeus spared him. Zeus then assignedProtheans the task of forming man
from water and earth, which Protheans did [HUMAN REAPER (not chronological) or could also be the passing on of mass relay technology],but in the process, became fonder of men than Zeus had anticipated.
Zeus didn't share Protheans' feelings and wanted to prevent men from having power, especially overfire. [Reapers want to destory sapient life, before they develop too far] Protheans cared more for man than for the wrath of theincreasingly powerful and autocratic king of the gods, so he stole fire from Zeus' lightning, concealed it in a hollow stalk of fennel, and brought it to man. {mass relay technology]

Zeus Gets Back at Protheans

Zeus reacted to these tricks by presenting man with a "gift," Pandora, the first woman[mass relay technology].
While Prometheus may have crafted man, woman was a different sort of creature. She came from the forge of Hephaestus, beautiful as a goddess and beguiling. Zeus presented her as a bride to Protheans brother
Epimetheus. Protheans had the gift of thinking ahead, but Epimetheus was only capable of afterthought, so Protheans, expecting retribution for his audacity, had warned his brother against accepting gifts from Zeus.[the VI from Illos that warned shepard of the reapers using the keepers]

Zeus gave the gods-crafted Pandora as bride to Epimetheus[mass relays technology] , along with a box that they were instructed to keep closed [the citadel?]. Epimetheus was dazzled by Pandora and forgot the advice of hisprescient brother. Protheans Continues to Defy Zeus Prometheus was still not awed by the might of Zeus and continued to defy him, refusing to warn him of the dangers of the nymph Thetis (future mother of Achilles). Zeus had tried punishing Protheans through his loved ones, but this time he decided to punish him more directly. He bade Hephaestus (or Hermes) chain Protheans to Mount Caucasus where an eagle/vulture ate his ever-regenerating liver each day. [mutation into collectors] Eventually Hercules [Shepard] rescued Protheans [not quite]

The Human Race and the Great Flood [the reapers' coming]

Meanwhile, Protheans had sired the human man named Deucalion, one of
the noble couple whom Zeus had spared when he caused the creatures of
the earth to be destroyed by a flood. Deucalion was married to his
cousin, the human woman Pyrrha, daughter of Epimetheus and Pandora.
During the flood, Deucalion and Pyrrha stayed safely on a boat like
Noah's ark. When all the other evil humans had been destroyed, Zeus
caused the waters to recede so that Deucalion and Pyrrha could land on
Mount Parnassus. While they had each other for company, and they could
produce new children, they were lonely and sought help from the oracle
of Themis. Following the oracle's advice, they threw stones over their
shoulders. From those thrown by Deucalion sprang men and from those
thrown by Pyrrha came women. Then they had their own child, a boy whom
they called Hellen and after whom the Greeks were named Hellenes.

I have to admit there arent that many great similiarites, but still it  fits a little.
