So my first playthrough was adept on Insanity, and I found that although the class isn't the best class to play on this difficulty, it provided a decent enough challenge.  It was the right balance between being not too weak and not being too strong.

Either way, I found that the powers that worked well for me were:
Max Warp (+dmg)
Max Singularity (+area)
Max Passive (+dmg)
Max Domination (+duration)
*I haven't really given Reave a try yet, so let me know how good it is.  :)

My team consisted of:
Miranda (For +dmg, overload and warp)
Zaaed (For team disruptor ammo.  Fire grenade was pretty decent as well)

The class really picks up when you gain the ability to use the sniper.

I tried a new game+ infiltrator, and didn't really find it all that fun.  Maybe it made the game too easy?  Anyways, I'm running the game on new game+ with my adept.

Your thoughts on the class?

I did pretty much the same thing. Adept as well, imported max lvl. ME1 Char, with previous ME2 Playthrough.

Max Warp

Max Shockwave

Max Bastion

Max Tungsten Ammo

Team was Professor (Mostly Incinerate/Passive), Garrus (Overload/Concussion), Miranda (Overload/Warp) largely depending on what I was facing.

Rather decent class, however really really lacking anathing against shields. Problem here: There are not even Loyalty Skills that go against shields/synthetics.

I found this much more challenging then playing as soldier with maxed Disruptor Ammo and taking reave as the additional Skill...

Toughest Momenst: The Final Boss of the Horizon Mission... boy that sucked. Endless kiting around crates with Companions constantly dying dying to the smashdown. Tali Recriutment: Geth Primes, no fun for Adepts. Hard Work, very hard Work.

class works fine, though there should have been some Skill (amongst the loyalty skills) that at least has some uses against shields.

Having Miranda around is definitely a no brainer. You get that squad passive bonus, plus Overload and Warp? It's a win-win. Either way, it helps to switch your squad's weapons to suit the enemy that you're facing. If they have shields on? Switch to auto weapons. Got barriers or armour? Switch to snipers, shotguns, etc.

Having access to disruptor ammo as an adept really, helps... you can take down shields so quickly.

Plus, Singularity + Warp combo I'd say was my bread and butter. Take out someone's protection in a group of baddies, cast singularity and hit 'em with warp. Practically an instant kill and you the enemies around him get damaged as well.

I found the terminator boss really, really tough. I spent a loooong time, trying to beat him. I kept getting owned when the Harbinger spawned near my squad.

Thats what Energy Drain is... ^ ^  Blasts through shields and Blasts any synthetic enemies as well.  And gives your shields a recharge to boot.  Warp for Barrior, Energy Drain for Shields, Warp for armor.  Wish I could swap Reave for Warp tho and keep Energy Drain.

I love Energy Drain Image IPB

Harbinger ? Marianda&Professor! Double Warp & Incinerate disposed rather quick of him for my part.

Singularity... I found it rather to be like this: All the work is getting the Barrier/Shield/Armor of something down, then its toast anyway. It just dies in the collateral damage of AE attacks (Shockwave!), spread fire or is disposed of by 20 SMG bullets with Tungsten/Shredder. Except maybe for Krogans, but Krogans dont die from a singularity/warp combo either. The hardest part was to get to the point where only Health was left.

@Echo: That is actually .... a very vaild point you make.

Heavy Warp

Heavy Singularity definitely made for fun.

Shockwave to keep the beasts at bay

Dominate or two to confuse the organics.

Loved playing Adept on Insanity. The real challenge was killing off the YMIRS but good tactics prevail.

Nothing like being chased around purgatory by the YMIR Mech while blue suns crush your teammates and flank you.

Definitely enjoying adept on insanity. Horizon climax was the toughest so far, with the close second being the first geth prime on Tali's mission. It drops in front of the only exit to a small room and charges straight in. Had to use heavy weapons.

I still preferred Pull field to Singularity, except when trying to keep aggressive enemies in place. There really hasn't been any challenge so far. I wish there was an upgrade other than the weapons to stay pure biotic though, using the Sniper/AR kind of diminishes the experience for me.

As for Bonus power I found that I rarely used any of them so I just took Barrier with 1pt into it for emergencies. I'd rather have Pull/Throw Field than only one and a useless skill. I used the squad for my ammo abilities but I rarely shot anything.
