Why do people assume she'll be a squad mate? The reason for her NOT being recruitable in the first place is so that she lives on for ME3 as cannon. The DLC concerning her is probably something to do with her Shadow Broker hunt

Yeah I agree with you. I doubt she will become a squad member. But I think some people are referring to her becoming a temporary squad member, for the DLC only. It would be cool, but a bit confused. What would be more appropriate is to have her in the mission, (like a squad) but not actualy controling as you do with the others. For example, think back at Garrus recuiting mission. In the beginning he was fighting with you but you didn't have him at your squad. Something similar to that would fit the story well.

Ah, yes. Good thought. I actually liked that.

If they released a new dlc pack with new dialogue options for Zaeed, Kasumi and Liara that would be awesome.

Would everyone still want Liara on their team if she was stuck with 'click for monologue' or 'ask me about my stuff' a la Zaeed and Kasumi?

As long as you could bring her along for fights, I wouldn't mind.

I'd be willing to wait for true conversations until ME3, so long as they're really good, well thought out conversations.

Nah. That would mean that we really wouldn't be able to interact with her. I would rather have her in a DLC (like the example of the Garrus mission that I said above),with interaction with her in other places, other than the Normandy. And then just wait for ME3 to have her a full member again.

Don't you guys think that the story parts that were probably meant for a DLC are being used in the redemption comics?
I certainly don't think we will have both the comics and a DLC describing the same events.

Edit: i see this has been discussed ad nauseam. Sorry 'bout that.

No, not describing the same event. Besides Shepard is dead in Redemption. The DLC will probably be a follow up of the story involving Liara's hunt for the SB and Feron.

Not that much but if she was given that there'd be so much rage on these forums they'd need to make another one just to hold it.

XD Thanks very much, I'm glad people are getting a kick out of them. It was pretty unexpected really.

On Topic: Come to think of it, if there is some type of Liara DLC, like Simon said I doubt it would be describing the same events. But maybe it would be a non-critical mission (non-critical as in not an integral part of the story) where you help Liara take down a major agent or something. There was some discussion about the dialogue in the cookedPC folder just being placeholder, and that it's not really a sign of things to come (ie, Liara will not come face to face with the Shadow Broker). Something like that seems pretty big to me, and not just something they'd gloss over by saying Oh yeah, he got taken down. We're told in the first game that even his best agents never see him face to face, so to just be like "Oh yeah guys he's dead now" seems well, terrible.

Blah, I don't know. I'm rambling.

edit: If we do end up facing the shadow broker at some point, I'd think it would be a part of ME3. If we face him at all. If he's as important a balancing factor as he and his agents make him out to be, then it might be a bad idea to kill him. Even if Liara is raging. :P

I really hope there is a DLC involving Liara. She was seemingly obsessed with Shepard in the first game but in ME2 seems uncaring and has an insignificant role. Also, I may want more of Liara because of my fan boy crush on her ^_^

One can only hope any dlc involving said character will only be playable after finishing the game similar to fallout 3's broken steal which is probably the best DLC to date for any game on 360

I get a feeling that Liara gets into a romantic relationship with that drell at the end of redemption, which might explain her coldness to shep if you romanced her and her obsession on saving her 'friend'. It'd be funny if the drell turned out to be the shadow broker -_-

Sadly the laws of Protagonist-Romance point to this as true.

1. Protagonist goes away for some reason

2. Protagonist's Love Interest finds a new beau.

3. Protangonist returns

4. Protagonist's Love Interest's new beau becomes inexplicably EVIL!

5. Protagonist kills new EVIL beau.

6. They live happily ever after, the end, kthnxbai!

People have found files and voice clips. Bioware obviously intended to do something with them, whether they're cut content or going to be utilised later I'm not sure. I haven't seen an official Liara DLC announcement yet. Maybe someone else has.

Seeing as there are Liara and Kasumi files in the game and there is Kasumi DLC, I think it is a safe assumption :D

Aww

Strong rumor, of course, considering the headers on those files that keep coming up in this conversation.

Also, the little group of Liaramancers I belong to are attempting to use our telepathic powers on Casey and Mac to get them to realize that they didn't do the emotional-revelation scene very well, and they should at least animate a silent hug option for Shep.  (Note to those involved -- we're not really seriously considering flaying them alive.  With our minds.  Right?....

EDI:  That was a joke.)

Oh crap. We're not? I must have missed the memo. Say uh... anybody know how to get blood out of a carpet?
