I think the implication is that the Liara DLC will either connect to ME 3, meaning it will be released shortly before the game (so no time soon) or that it will deal specifically with Liara's quest to defeat the SB, and only touch on the romance but not focus on it. So those of you hoping for a beach scene where you run towards her in slow motion and hug...will need to wait until ME 3.

Well, it doesn't need to continue/conclude the romance in a "show Liara the Captain's Quarters" way. The romance really needs to come up though - logically, how do you justify it not being mentioned? It's already hard enough to believe neither of them mentioned it before Shep heads off to a suicide mission. How would it make sense to not come up during the fight for what she appears to see as her redemption? Realistically, it should be a major part of the Shadow Broker plot if she as Shep were lovers, since it would be a major part of her motivation.

The Liara pcc files are really tiny, though I haven't unpacked them yet. There isn't anything in the TLK dialogue file about the Liara DLC.

What about the other DLC files?  I don't think the .pcc file for Zaeed is that big either.

It seems that the files that are there now would pertain to the DLC intro dialog Liara would have with Shepard.  The remainder would be downloaded when the DLC is released.

I agree 100%. As a tech person (although I'm not well versed in this area) I have a hunch that those files are not just placeholders, but the files necessary to link any DLC content they put up on cerberus to our installed content. In a sense those files are the "conduits" (no pun intended) to the future DLC, so there is nothing inside those files now that may be of any significance.

If its an actual Liara DLC, as opposed to some s#!tty quest about mercs or some such, where she is merely the assigner, I will get it. But I will have to spoil myself first, to make sure its not just more wrecking of her character.

Yeah.

I'd hate to see Liara get Zaee'd.

True, but there's no dialogue in the TLK that looks like it pertains to Liara DLC to me (though I'm not positive, of course -there's a TON of text in that file and i could easily have missed stuff).
I'd have to unpack the thing and see what's in it.
Zaeed's got a bunch of trigger pcc files in addition to his main one, as does Kasumi. Unfortunately I won't be able to do any more work reverse engineering that format until next week.

but again, I'm assuming they are files that are placed in the folder by bioware as preliminary files. I could be so wrong it's funny, but I don't think so. We see the Kasumi and Zaeed "extra" files because we already have Zaeed and Kasumi is sooner than later on an eta.

Oh yeah, they are probably preliminary files for sure. It even says Liara_DLC_lead_in. I don't know enough about their DLC handling to say when the hooks are activated, but it's likely they will reference stuff you download later.

"Actually, our goal right now is to have the story tie to some of the downloadable content for Mass Effect 2. That will probably be coming later next year. I don;t think we have specific dates yet. It's meant to be standalone in the sense that it explores something we don't necessarily see in the game, but it is connected to the game, and in the downloadable content we hope to follow through on some of the events in the comic."

That is actually very encouraging.  I just hope they challenge themselves to make it really epic.  I also hope that comment was made last year, so that the "later next year" comment means the DLC is coming this year. :pinched:

nice...maybe we'll get Liara in our captain's cabin after all. <3
but as long as we get MORE MENTION OF THE ROMANCE. I'll be overjoyed.

In the DLC, if she's a temporary squadmate, I'd love it if she wears the armour she wore in Redemption. I thought it was pretty cool looking, and made her look super cool. :)

Why would she wear armor?  Only Shep, mercs, and every soldier in the galaxy need it, your squadmates don't.

Sadly

They should have gotten creative with casual outfits if they wanted, but fighting in them, sometimes in hostile enviroments?

Yeah.... Oh look, shep needs to run around in a full on space combat suit with a breather but miranda can run around in her PJs with just a little breather....somethings wrong with that picture.

I am willing to bet money that as soon as Mass Effect Redemption is done, they'll release it and hopefully bring an end to that side story.

Agreed, BioWare butchered Liara, kaiden, & Ashley. So much for my ME actions having any tangilable effects in ME2

One thing that ME2 did very well was making your important choices from ME1 feel completely irrelevant. ;)

If Bioware did based thier actions over Liara's behavior at the comic series then i think that was shot in the feet because of fact that there is veeery little chance that this series will appear outside US soil and because of that many non US players will be left in the fog when comes to pre ME 2 (after Soveregin defeat) events.

That  fact might become a hindrance if there will be some sort of dialouges related to this series which will be auto skipped because player will have not a slight idea what is all about and that could have (not necessary but still) implications when comes to solving possible SB quest UNLESS they will add extended dialouge option helping to get a grasp of entire case... OR posted via Cerberus network DLable PDF version of those comics.

Yeah there is a video to this interview as well I think. But either way, that's enough confirmation for me to get excited. Man BioWare please come through.

I know that Forbidden Planet stores in the UK are carrying the Mass Effect: Redemption comic, and so far it's really good.  Can't wait for the companion DLC...

Is the comic available online?  I haven't picked up any of them yet.  In fact, I think I'll wait to see how it all turns out, then if its worthwhile I get a collected edition or something.

I'm gonna wait.  I want to see what they do with Liara's character before I actually spend money on them and support it.

I bought mine from eBay from a Glasgow based company called "Red Hot Comics". They also allowed me to subscribe to issues 3&4, so I'll also receive those as soon as they're released too.

Anyone from the UK should check them out if you want Redemption.

I got the first one with the game, I saw a place where could order them online as they became available... but I didn't keep track of the link. Been 2 weeks since I saw it so memory not so good.

But was a bit disapointed so hoping the DLC will patch things up with that part.

I had a look on the Aussie eBay site for you, and although there's no sellers based in Australia, there are plenty in the states willing to ship internationally. Have a look for yourself:

shop.ebay.com.au/

I'm not sure about Australian import tax laws, but whenever I've bought CDs/games/DVDs from eBay sellers based in the US, Canada, Australia or Japan I've never had to pay anything extra on top of the international shipping fees. Yeah, eBay is your best bet.
