As much as I loved building realationships with all my squadmates (some more than others). I think maybe something Bioware should consider is figuring out a way of your squadmates having relationships with each other.

Whilst there are inklings of this in ME2 (Miranda and Jacob, Miranda and Jack, Legion and Tali), they are mainly in the form of arguemts. I would love to see something more indepth in all Bioware games.

Does anyone agree/disagree?

Agreed, maybe they should of done something like in KotoR2, when you entered the ship you'd see cutsences of your squadmates interacting with one another.

Dragon Age had a lot of NCP interaction chats while in party, really helped to make the game imo. shame nothing similar in ME2 . missed oportunity.

I completely agree. More interaction between squad members would be awesome.

It's also fun when they comment during dialogue, which it seems Garrus does the most often. His quips are usually really funny (like when Bailey mentions the Shep VI)

yh thats right, in Dragon Age Allistar and Shale always had the funniest converstions with the other NPCs.

I suppose thats once thing that was lost from the long elevators. Characteres would always had little convos whilst on them. Not that I miss the elevators

I've said this before in another thread, but basically it's not really fair to use DA as a comparison. DA was in development 5 years: ME2 about 1/3 of that time.

Banter between party members takes a LOT of work - you've got so many different combinations of people talking to each other, and it has to be worked into the plot, and it has to take account of the various plot choices that have been made, etc. etc. It's a lot of work, and I really think it was the long development time that made so much banter available in DA.

That said, ME2 is a bit light in the pants on that score. I'd like to see more interation in MA3, even if asking for DA-level interaction is probably too much. KOTOR did a good job with it, and that level I think is doable.

Whilst I understand and agree largely with what your saying. As a sequel, with much of the lore and framework already present, shouldn't ME2 then have taken less development time? Or am I missing something?

I mean there pushing for quite a quick turnaround for ME3 right?

Enough questions there? :P

Personally i hope ME2 is just this swallow on this parts because M2 is basically just linking to ME3 which is (hopefully) already in the making.

If that one is correct, i would fully understand that ME1 seems to have so very little impact on ME2 and both ME1 and ME2 will decide the whole story in ME3. And not just detached from each other with a little background flavor.

I mean ME2... fine i have built my crew now for ME3... we are ready for the final show down. ME2 does that great... showing how i get my crew and my ship for ME3. (As opposed to flying a small nutshell prototype i now have a big cruiser type of high combat vessel)

And while i miss the quips and such from my teammates.. and i miss the elevator rides (all they needed was having their time halved), but i really hope ME2 was just to keep the Iron Hot.. while the real work goes into ME3.

I've seen references elsewhere to squadmates talking to each other in ME2 in a manner similar to DA:O but never got it to happen and have no idea what supposedly triggers it. Maybe I misunderstood the references.

the only talking they do with each other is on the big story missions, like the collector ship. But thats only dialog refering to the mission. I've finished it twice and theres been nothing like the Dragon Age banter

I'm all for this idea.

I would love to see Grunt poke at Garrus, after all the krogan hate the turians

or maybe even overhearing some gossip between the other crew members... it would make the game very interesting to have to compete with others for a LI too.

I'd also like to see my crew become closer to each other as you work your way further into the game.... it just seems like they never communicate and that's just entirely unrealistic. I mean if you're going on a suicide mission you need to be more a bit more balanced with the team you're going in with other than all being loyal to your leader (or not in some cases). I just want to see more character interaction with each other, and i'd also like them to have even more interaction with shep!

There's actually a video somewhere on Youtube where Garrus wants to have a conversation with Tali while they're on the Citadel, and she responds that she has a shotgun. Also, I completed Mass Effect Galaxy, and I'm supposed to be able to have extra dialogue when Miranda and Jacob are in my party, but neither they nor anyone else will say anything that isn't mission-related or battle-related.

I have a bunch of mutes on my squad.

Morrigan and Alistair were the best.

The only squadmate relationship that is developed in ME2 is Joker/EDI. it goes from annoyance and distrust to mutual respect, boderline computer love by the end.
