Yeah, Tali is a bit fragile but oddly enough the final boss battle is one place it's less important. I think for some reason Shepard has all the medi-gel and forgot to leave any with the HTL team.
Point is you can always revive her or anyone else you take with you, but if they die holding the line then they're dead and you can't do anything about it. So I took Jack and Tali with Shep because they' die easily but Shep can look after them, revive if needed, and do the main offensive work (my Shep's a soldier) while Tali flings exploding combat drones around and Jack Pulls Collectors off their platforms. Mordin got almost a free pass by escorting Chakwas, half the crew and a bunch of little jars with what's left of Kelly and the rest in back to the ship. Kasumi got HTL duty and I just had to hope that the rest of the team were good enough to keep her alive, which it turned out they were. If I understand how it works correctly that's erring heavily on the side of caution and I ought to be able to swap Jack or Tali, and even Jack and Tali, for Samara and Legion. Very tempted to give this combo a try for the extra two assault rifles and Samara's Throw power.

(original thread posted below, so I'll remove the link- makes it seem like I want it to seem that it seems to be mine. Seem)
Just gonna throw that in there and hope no one else has already posted it.

I read your chart, but I'm confused about the < > average and number at the last part of the hold the line. What does that mean?

Basically each npc has a "hold the line score" Grunt, Garrus and Zaeed are the best. If you're interested in the mechanics of the process, try this thread.
http://social.biowar...5/index/5855452
The numbers mean
Grunt, Garrus and Zaeed are 3(4 if loyal)
Jack, Kasumi, Tali and Mordin are 0(1 if loyal)
All others are 1 (2 if loyal)
For each character at the "hold the line" add the points together and divide by the number of characters. That will be your "hold the line score". It needs to be 2.0 or better to have everyone survive.

I think it makes sense now why I always seem to lose Tali or Mordin. I like Garrus and Zaeed with me in the end squad. From here on out I'll fix that.

Using the thread I linked, you can pretty much determine who survives the suicide mission. This includes getting a specific npc killed if that is what you want.

Explained a million times better than me because I couldn't remember the numbers, but RPGmom28 you can see now why that list I told you before works and why it was also playing extra safe. A team of nine needs a combined score of 18, so that list was over by 5, and even swapping Jack and Tali for Legion and Samara will still score enough to keep the whole team alive. Sitting here and counting on my fingers I'd say you should still be able to make up 18 if you want to take either Garrus or Zaeed with you to fight the Human Reaper. But not if you take both because then the team's score will only be 17 at best, which is bad news for someone, usually Tali or Mordin as you've found.
