Not paying for more DLC tbh, unless it's something like Shale. The others are completely forgettable.

Your choice, there is someone who will buy instead of you...and they will keep making DLC, you don't HAVE to buy it.

Return to Ostagar wasn't so good. The other DLC was fine though. Also I can think of plenty of things I've bought for less than 5 bucks that lasted longer than 20 minutes. Hell, I got STALKER and TF2 for 2 bucks a piece.

Honestly, I wasn't planning on buying the DLC at first, but I like the game enough to want additional content. Even if it only takes an hour or so, it still adds more to one of my favorite games. What really made me buy the DLC, though, is David Gaider. A comment he made to a guy who called Alistair whiny was enough to make me want to give Gaider my money. I paid $15 for The Calling, which took three hours to read. So $5 for a hour's worth of content isn't bad. I also read The Calling right after I finished the last book in Jim Butcher's Codex Alera series, so for anything after that to hold my attention is pretty impressive.

My only complaint about the DLC is that I would have liked more stuff for rogues. At least RtO had some nice light gloves, but I have more massive armor than I could ever possibly need. Some light armor and a bow would be nice. I would love to see new new textures on light armor, and new meshes for light armor and mage robes. Will we be seeing new textures and meshes in Awakening?

You must have still been drunk.

What I told you to buy was some Sani-Flush and a good scrubber. Geez.

LMAFFAO!!! AWESOME!

I'd also like to add that Bring Down the Sky was 10x better at the same price. Sure it had some re-skins of stuff in game but it wasn't a complete re-skin. Plus it had more dialogue and a couple newly designed areas.

EDIT: But if you actually want to get really bad Bioware DLC (Which is impossible now, unless the DLC is on PC) you should have gotten the free DLC for KOTOR.  It breaks the game.

I remember when stuff like this would be free or included into the huge expansion packs for games.

Yeah, remember how every developer ever would just make a game and then move on to the next project instead of providing any extra content for the game they just made because it was just done?

Also, when patches had to be put on CD's and provided via magazines and were not on the net because the Internet didn't exist?

Great times!

I for one like the small DLC and the small price for what you get...

RTO...a closure to the fallen king..found it strange that no one went back to bury the king or retrieve his belongings int he original story.

Stone Pris....Get an extra unique companion, a decent ring & dagger and a frustrating puzzle to solve.

Wardens Keep...A cool sidequest with a nice battle. Decent armor and accessories. A new vendor and a new smith that makes one of the best weapons in the game.

So what's to hate about all that?? It changes my game, gives me extra to do while waiting on a full expansion..I just don't understand your whine??

In my opinion, pastypus is not totally wrong. Some of the downloadable content is great (The Stone Prisoner for example, is worth every cent), but other content, as for example the Warden's Keep, seems to me just like a "pay for ez purpz".. which (for those who never played World of Warcraft) sounds more or less like "pay and get superior gear easily", because don't tell me that the adventure itself (short and not exactly exciting) is worth the amount of points spent for it.

About Return to Ostagar.. well this one is not so bad, some good surprises and a dozen of challenging fights, but still... you get some unbalanced gear there, which could make your following battles in DAO even too easy.

I'd also like to troll/start an argument with the people who keep saying we are not forced to purchase these things. While that is somewhat true, how else are we going to know what these DLC's are like? Its not like we rent or free trial them we have to purchase them to see what they are like for ourselves. I mean I heard RTO wasn't that great but I still wanted to see for myself.

While I enjoy the little downloads, "just don't buy it then" doesn't really apply here. Producing DLC in small packets does mean taking limited work-hours away from fuller expansions.

I still like the pleasure of having a little bit of extra game more frequently.

a separate team works on the dlc from the original game and the expansion.

1) If you don't like any of the dlc coming out, then don''t buy them.

2) If you want ti save uo for an expansion, then do so, and buy this one instead.

3) Bioware has several teams now. This means they have people working on dlc, other people working on the expansion(s) for the game, and yet again other people working on other stuff - such as the sequel to Dragon Age. (a very small team probably...)

Return to Ostagar gave me a reason to start a new Dragon Age playthrough. If it's worthless for you, you don't miss anything when you ignore it, so why are you complaining?

I dont think that the DLC for Dragon Age has been too bad actually.

And we are getting an expansion - woot!

If anyone thinks that the DLC is really appallingly bad for DLC needs to go look at the DLC for Fallout 3 and Oblivion. Now there are games that have truely TERRIBLE waste of money and bandwidth DLCs.

Funny for how much I like both those games I often find myself pointing to them for examples of what NOT to do with an RPG. lol.

I disagree, I would rather play through Operation Anchorage again than RTO. On the other hand I would also rather play through Stone Prisoner and Wardens keep rather than OA.

Peaks and valleys people peaks and valleys.

Granted I'd get those downloads anyway, but that's just me.

i'm really conflicted about the DLCs, they do suck. and every time i play through one piece of them my overall score for DA:O drops by 0.1 on a 10 scale. but on the other hand, it's still worth it for 5 bucks, and i don't want to miss a piece of the content.

Well its more like 8 cans of beer but meh... probably worth it in long run but would have liked Alistair to comment on not finding a certain something since he had a much stronger bond than with the other thing.

I don't know, I liked RtO. Sure, it wasn't epic in length (Or even dialog) but for 5 bucks it was nice to have some closure with a certain important NPC.

Plus you manage to get a very nice suit of armor that feels "right" on Alistair (Better looking and more regal than the Dragonbone plate I always give him in my playthroughs) as well as a famous weapon described in Gaider's books.

Speaking which, that weapon is always RED STEEL when I find it in RtO, whereas in the books, it is clearly referred to as being made out of DRAGONBONE.

Thankfully, you can fix this by selling it to the Warden's Keep merchant and buying it back, where it changes to Dragonbone. Still, I thought that was sloppy.

Image IPB lmao this was the best post yet.

Anyways like a lot of people are saying if you don't like the DLC's then don't get them plain n simple. I feel they are definitely worth it.  Like someone else said $5 to me is 2 starbucks fraps in a day which I really don't need anyways (their too adicting anyways, but so is DA:O) lmao.
If you enjoy the DLC's then keep buying/downloading them, your showing Bioware that hey we enjoy these, we appreciate you adding more to an already wonderful game, thank you n keep them coming please.

You can't please everyone but thankfully there are some people that do appreciate the extra's that add to the game
