Hi Mom,

Hopefully you found this extranet post. I would have contacted you sooner, but apparently I was unconcious for two years. I wish I could just call you or even reply to the email you sent, but Cerberus has prevented me from contacting you or Admiral Hackett.

The Alliance really needs tighter security protocols as our best prototypes were stolen and put to use by Cerberus. The only reason I am still here working with these terrorists is they are the only group willing to give me the ship and crew I need to take down the Collectors and stop any more colonies from being lost. At least the Citadel Council reinstated me as a Spectre, but they refuse to do anything for fear of provoking the Terminus Systems.

I will be honest, this threat is a danger to the whole galaxy, and this might be a suicide mission. If I get back, I hope I can get in contact with you. We have lots to catch up on. If this is the last thing you hear from me, please know I love you and dad, and my crew and I gave our lives to stop the Collectors from harvesting more humans.

It was pretty frustrating to get a message from mom and be unable to do anything about it.

You should be able to reply to messages in part three!

Not like type it out or anything, use the same dialog wheel to determine your tone, just like a conversation. You could then see your results in the outbox!

Yeah I felt bad for Chorban when he told me about his findings on the keepers and how nobody believed him.  Kind of wanted to write him an email saying I know you're right man.

Dear daughter.

WTF? i thought you were dead? You have a lot of explaining to do young lady. Just wait till your father gets home! He'll be furious that you went galavanting the galaxy putting yourself in danger. I don't care if you are an elite soldier and 31 years of age, a strapping young feline like yourself should settle down with a nice man, Kaiden? i think his name was, he was a nice young fellow but NooooooOOoo, someone had to go become a terrorist.

I am disappointed in you dear.

Regretfully,

your Mother.

They may not be terrorists, but Cerberus as a whole seems very shady. Only members I trust are Jacob and Miranda, as for you Illusive Man you can go and...

Even GTA had an e-mail reply system and funnily enough you can choose to write a positive message or write a negative message.

What do you call an organization that detonates a eezo freighter over a colony of nearly a million people, killing off almost half the population to see if any one developed biotics after the accident?

In the playthroughs you had Cryo84 & Default137 that might be true, but with my paragon, by-the-book, war hero spacer, they were terrorists. From my Shep's point of view, they tortured Toombs, killed good Marines, stole medical supplies by blackmail, murdered Rear Admiral Kahoku, spied on the Alliance, turned humans into husks, experimented with Rachni and the Thorian creeper, and that's just in my ME1 playthrough. If you follow ME: Assension there is even more lawlessness, espionage, sabatoge, and assassination. Sounds like terrorists to me.

You had to do the side-quest with her old ship-mate in ME1, then import to ME2.

U write her about going on a SUICIDE mission?! You're the worst son ever! She allready lost u once, no you're going to leave with the knowledge that you are alive for now, but there's a very possible chance that you'll be killed soon? Compared to that, not responding at all, was the better choise. As a soldier who served on the frontline, the last thing parents wanna hear about is: "Yeah, they bombed our base today but nobody got killed. I'm going on a raid deep in enemy territory tommorow morning, to track down the bombers...". They just wanna hear that everything is fine, and you're fine. Your problems won't get any easier, if u tell them about things they can't help with, and only make them worry. So u lie to them. "working with terrorists" is not something to write home about...

+1 OP. It's really weird not writing or seeing her once before, even when she knows you're alive.

I really wish I could reply to the escaped convict after the destruction of Purgatory. Felt really bad after reading that email.

Now that I'm thinking about it, that could be a fun small side mission for DLC. Tracking the idiot down before he can hurt someone.

Here's hoping that Bioware builds on the wonderful story they have so far, especially in tying the three games together.

I just can't understand Bioware... they had the time to include ridiculous characters like Diana Allers but Commander Shepard's Mom gets sidelined?????????????? But then again all the new squadmates of ME2 were sidelined... damn you Bioware!!
