And yeah the dog is not bad with a few skill improvements. My current game played with him because I didn't free Sten and had no big hitter until Oghren. Also I get the impression if you want to choose dodgy type options the dog won't complain - unlike Alistair/wynne!

There's a Rottweiler that comes into my local pub (with his owner, of course). He's the biggest, daftest animal you'll ever meet, friendly as anything although he doesn't know his own strength. He humped my leg the first time I met him (I couldn't do anything about it, he's massive even for a Rottweiler). He's an awesome dog, and his name is George.



Therefore, on my current (first) run of DA:O, my dog is named George.

With my City Elf I named him Baelik as in "Mighty Guardian" (elvish meaning)



With my Human Noble I named him Brennus as in:

Latinized form of a Celtic name (or title) that possibly meant either "king" or "prince".



Also, in my very first playthrough I named him Fletcher (after my own dog) which accidentally means "arrow" or "arrowmaker", but I never rolled an archer to make it even more suitable.



I might put too much thought into this, but hey...

Most of the time I name him Aries after the Greek God of War but once I called him Jupiter after the Roman God of War.

The dog of my elven mage Valerius was called "Ioreth" .

The one of my human noble was called "Peregrin",

and the one of my city elf rogue is called "Sovereign" ( this has something to do with the actual character )



When I played through as a dwarf, I called it "Brego", but I deleted that playthrough.
