Wow, thanks Bioware, this is good news. Now give us the ability to play this game in offline mode and your aces. =]

Log out. Start the game with no gamertag. Press start it will ask you to sign in, pick GT. Should tell you "This certain DLC in Corrupt". blah blah blah. Told me zaheed DLC was corrupt.... loaded up game started a mission and boom he was right there. Did not have a problem. There's the work around I got for offline mode. Might help.

Awesome... free stuff. Also the armor looks badass. Giving me a Judge Dread/Halo vibe. Can we customize it? I'm guessing not, but it would be extra bonus if we could.

The polar reaction is pretty funny here - uber excited for a cool free gun, completely disappointed in the armor. BW, please take this in the spirit it's meant - we REALLY want to wear these cool armors. I'd probably even drop cash for some (shhh - don't tell.) However, if we can't take the helmets off, well, you might as well stop making them now. That sounds harsher than I mean it to, but I really don't want poor DLC sales to lead to, well, a repeat of ME1's DLC. I would love nothing more than constant DLC support - free awesome weapons is definitely what we'd like to see!

completely agree... I would rather pay for content I liked than get free content I never use

I won't use any of the armor if I end up with 100 sets of it if you have to keep the helmet on all the time :o

I wonder how many more sets of armor are already made, though?  They probably have a release schedule that nobody is willing to change.

Hopefully this is the last of the useless armor

Are you insane!? You're saying you would pay to have the option to remove your helmet, when this feature should already be in the game! I wouldn't pay a cent for a removable helmet when it should be in the game! This issue could be patch within the week if BioWare gave the order that's how hard it is to fix.

I hope the armor will be just as customizable as the N7 one. I would really love that. :)

Wow, given what a short amount of time the game has been out, I think it's pretty nice they are already providing add-ons :)

You misunderstand - I'm not saying I would pay for a patch, I'm saying I WON'T pay for any armors where the feature isn't already implemented.  I want them to put out DLC, and I'll even pay for it, but I don't want them to put out DLC that no one will buy because of a stupid helmet toggle, see the disappointing sales and think, "oh - I guess they didn't want DLC after all."

lol I can see how I wasn't very clear there, but that's not what I'm saying

all I'm saying is that free content is great, but if it's unappealing, it might as well not be there

I agree they should add removable helmets for the DLC armor, it's quite annoying. Not game breaking, but annoying.

Anyway I like the Assault Armor, looks pretty cool and the bonuses aren't bad either. I'll have to see how good the shotgun is.

Also, any word on when the Hammerhead is getting released? I'm pretty excited for that.

Making these armors have toggled helmets wouldn't be as simple as you might think, considering the armor is a single model.

I mean it wouldn't be necessarily difficult for Bioware to do, but it's not something you can fix with a small patch.

Quit whining about helmet toggle and start a poll or group. I personally don't mind that much. It would be nice, but im not going b**** and complain about it.

Im excited for the new armors with or without helmets. The Cerberus Assault looks really cool.

lol it's like the only thing that genuinely bothers me about the whole game, so if I go around telling everyone that this is like my favorite game ever and that they need to buy it TODAY (which I do), then I should be able to complain about something that is so conceptually simple and stupid if I feel like it.

I agree with the general consensus - the effort is appreciated, but you gotta allow us to take the helmets off of these bonus/DLC armor sets, and allow for some kind of customization. Ideally they'd be completely modular a la the N7 armor, but I'm not holding my breath for that. Color change would be fine. Make it happen Bioware.

which I understand, given how many more combat animations are in this game when you compare it to ME1

I also understand that they probably have X plan in place to release X sets of armor (which are probably already made) and that they probably won't change anything until the time comes to make new armor, if at all

It's just funny to me given all the marketing they did for the promotional armor sets.  The helmet toggle feature was important enough to put in the first game, and they left an option in to remove your helmet for the N7 armor.  But someone made a bad decision regarding the promotional armor sets, and while it's not the biggest deal ever, I'm surely not spending $10 more for a bonus crappy item again :o

I agree. For some reason, I got a feeling this armour might not have been implemented by the folks over at BioWare? I know that must sound totally stupid... But if you look at ME2 and how streamlined that game is. A lot of hassle is taken out of that game. Heck, look at how the armours of ME2 are so totally open for customization. Colour, patterns... You look bad ass no matter what you wear!

And now they are releasing armours that covers the well executed lip-synch and facial animation of the main character... Doesn't add up to me. Image IPB I would love to say it's EA interferrance and believe BioWare are smarter than this.... But I don't know.

Worth mentioning, is that the official armour page shows the faceplate for this armour as see-through. But it is not shown as such in the screen shots... I'll cross my fingers and toes. Though... I wish I hadn't seen that page. I see the cool visors I am unable to get because I live in Australia. Damn Aussies and our hate for Dr. Pepper Image IPB

I will be grateful for the Shotgun, I'm a Vanguard. =D But the lack of a head/face toggle will make this the 4th armour I have Downloaded that I will never use, after my Collector, Terminus and Blood Dragon sets... Image IPB

I agree. It's my biggest problem with the game because it shows such an incredible (And unusual for Bioware) disregard for the player and the experiece.

I spent a good 30-40 minutes crafting their looks during each ME playthrough.

I saved those for two years.

The new graphics engine makes them look outstanding.

Yet they are now gone for 75% of the game because I can't remove the helmet?

To the other quoted post: I paid for the game, and I'll complain if I want. Especially when it is a design choice so,  "conceptually simple and stupid" because it's both.

And I'll add obvious. The art department put making them pretty over making them things players would want to use. Why shouldn't I and others voice their displeasure, if for no other reason, than to make sure that they don't make the same choice for ME3.
